Hospitals are saturated in Europe now, I think it's really wrong to have to choose between two patients and discard the old, but Im also not sure what solution they could implement considering that they don't have enough tools to deal with this pandemic, I'm not sure every country does. This disease has exposed the weaknesses of many different systems in all the world. The first weakness it exposed was China's poor inspections and regulations of public markets. The next weakness it exposed was Europes lack of preparing for what's to come. Next it will expose America's Healthcare system, and how it will fail in densely populated centers Like NEw York. The big things that might save America here vs. Europe, is the aggression a lot of American Governors of states are handling this vs. the American President. Certain states are ALready shutting down certain social institutes, and inforcing shelter in place measures. . The USA does not rely on public transportation, and is nowhere near as densely populated as Europe. However New York is in bad shape and will just get worse. Cases are going to continue to go up in the US, with the availibility of testing becoming more common. HOwever, the spread of the disease outside of NEw York will hopefully gain some control with all the measures in place. Nothing wrong with being patriotic and loving your own country, but when you use patriotism to shut the truth down, I have a problem with your patriotism. I never hesitate to go after all governments and people in power (including mine). People like you link their identity to their government, which is why you take it personally and think I hate your people. I on the other hand view myself as an individual separated from my government and country, which is why I welcome people who criticize governments. Im sorry but I will continue criticizing governments and people of power even if people like you take it personal, and want to accuse me of racism or hating the west. They've handled everything extremely well in New Zealand and taken all the right precautions. Our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern put us into lockdown before we had 100 confirmed cases (now over 260), and gave us two days to prepare for lockdown, urged us to practise social distancing and enforced limits on supermarket sales to prevent panic buying, closed our airports, put very strict quarantine measures on any citizens returning to the country. They also put aside $12Billion to supplement the pay of most of our workers (thankfully I'm eligible so I will still get paid enough to get by over the next month). Now that lockdown is in effect there are police patrolling to help enforce it. To the rest of the world, I am so sorry your leaders have failed you. It really makes it blatantly and depressingly clear just how cold and heartless a lot of the people in power really are. I really hope that through this trauma we can all start to make better decisions about what is important in a leader and create change for the future in governments around the world. My heart goes out to all of you and your individual struggles People matter. All of our lives matter. We need people in charge who care about us. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. There's no possibility that the coronavirus is going to be ended before Easter like what Trump wished. He should take stronger efforts to save lives instead of the stock market.
