Is it morally responsible to delay Chromatica?

First off, I totally get why Interscope decided to delay Chromatica. Don't agree with that decision but I understand it :oprah: It's business.

But from a moral perspective the thing that rubs me the wrong way is... people are dying every single day :emma: Why are people acting all brand new to the world's tragedies? :air: It's always a bad time to release your friggin' pop album like it matters in the grand scope of things. People were/are dying of the regular flu too and it wouldn't have made any difference to Gaga or her label. Was it right to let the music industry continue during the SARS crisis? Ebola? Children still dying of hunger in Yemen to this day?

Yes, COVID-19 deserves to be taken seriously but maybe not this seriously. I'm over it.

(Not trying to drag Gaga or Interscope here, just trying to think critically about this whole "the world is in so much pain!!!!" mania.)

When the pandemic is over people will be mourning their lost ones and then it will be the perfect time to release it according to Gaga! As long as the economy is better of course :enigma:

Why? I think it's a fair question. I get that Interscope delayed this era for economic reasons but that doesn't make it a "morally fair" thing to do.

It was gonna be the candle we all hold, to get us through.

Now it's the light at the end of the tunnel, so I'm okay with that.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

To keep a virus from spreading, yes  That's not the end of the world. I still don't get why people are pretending that having to stay indoors and watch tv for a few weeks is worse than literally dying of hunger without anyone outside of your country caring.

People die everyday but more people are dying than usual these days. COVID19 is a pandemic and its scope is larger than SARS and Ebola. I know you're upset and we all are but COVID19 is not something we can overlook. It has already made impact on the world economy and we don't know how long this is going to last. Don't be selfish.

Because till it happens to you, you don't know how it feels. That's why people are mad with all these coronaviruses.

Sis.... this is a global pandemic. It's not a regular "people die every day" thing.  Yes children are dying in Yemen and Palestinians are being murdered everyday and it's absolutely unacceptable and horrible, but this is a world wide emergency of a totally different scale that's affecting EVERYONE. Life NEEDS to change, otherwise we won't be able to contain it.

And this attitude has been the downfall of many countries so far. No matter how seriously we think we're taking this mess, it's proving to be not serious enough. The world won't end if we don't get to hear Chromatica now.

And this is a business decision after all, not a creative one. I'm pretty sure if there was no profit involved (or if it weren't the main interest of the label from the release), she would have released it now for everyone to enjoy.

Soft, soothing, and succulent
