Mariano 958
Last thing I'll say is, it's clear from Gaga's post that promo/second single will still come sooner than later and that the era will continue and there won't be any significant blackout. The most important part of the era (album release week) is simply postponed maximum 1-2 months. That's it. I won't be surprised if we even get a promo single as soon as in the next 2 weeks. giskardsb 12,565
you all forget that CA and NY are being disrupted quite heavily by the virus and those are the epicenters of the music industry, plus global supply chains are disrupted, touring impossible, lockdowns, etc. Maybe she could do a digital only release, but even preparing that requires people to get together, the album may not even be fully mastered yet. Even then many of you would be complaining at the lack of promo, because, you have to complain about something apparently. There are many good people on GGD. Also a whole bunch of needy people who sound like two year olds throwing tantrums because they didn't get a piece of candy. Maybe you need these. ARTPOPSLAYAGE 187
While this sucks, it is definitely the right decision. While me, and I'm 100% sure many other little monsters were looking forward to the release, especially in this bleak time, it's simply not the right decision. Gaga had so much planned, and she should be able to see those plans through. Along with that, the album would struggle with sales without having physical copies or any promo, and this era would be over as soon as it started. Delaying the album is the right choice. NOW! Let's hope she releases a promo single soon to help the wait!

I've had a bad year so far, it was bad before the pandemic started and it's only got worse. I understand the financial and moral reasons behind her decision but I am still disappointed, her new album was all I was looking forward to. But it is what it is. Tom Nook 37,808
I mean rather have a fun and eventful era with the artistic vision of how she wanted it to roll out rather than cooped up in my 132sq feet bedroom Uh Red Wine... Franch Toast 26,898
I can't keep up with all of the responses here or on social media. I took a peek here, and I glimpsed at Twitter, and then I had to step back. It's okay to feel disappointed, angry, or however we feel because of the delay of the album release. I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm not surprised, and I do understand. But even if we disagree with her decision, it doesn't matter, because it's her decision, not ours. It's her creation. She wants the release to be exuberant and for people to celebrate together, which isn't possible right now. She wants to do fun promo that she can't do right now. Of course having new music from her would be a wonderful distraction from the anxiety, boredom, and fear surrounding this pandemic, but I understand why the timing isn't good. An album like Joanne that's more scaled back could work and be promoted more easily during this era of physical distancing, but Chromatica doesn't seem to be that kind of album. It's colorful, joyful, and celebratory, and it needs back-up dancers and probably her band. It doesn't seem to be the kind of album where she can just sit at her piano and give us a Facebook Live acoustic concert. If we feel disappointed, imagine how disappointed she feels as the creator. If you're an artist, you know what I'm talking about. You create something, and you have a specific vision for bringing it into the world. Forces beyond her control have rendered that impossible. It's her right as an artist to wait until she can unveil her creation in the manner that she wants. Moreover, the apparently vibrant tone of the album doesn't really match the somber mood of the world right now. While we might appreciate having something to cheer us up, I can see why it's smart for her to wait. When she does launch Chromatica, imagine how celebratory it's going to be, as everyone is going to be over the moon to be able to go out again without fear. I do hope she has something up her sleeve in meantime to tide us over. And again, if you are upset by this decision, your feelings are perfectly valid, but please try not to express anger and hate toward her. She doesn't deserve that. OMonster 14,675
This is 100% the right decision. Maybe now we have a CHANCE of an ERA and not just a playlist of new music silently dropping on Spotify. Anyway, if the tour really does go ahead... the album will be here way before then. Probably a May release, tbh. That said, I think it's risky because the tour is 90% going to be postponed, so basing the era round that would make no sense. I'd like the album to release in October, in line with Coachella. The tour should be postponed to January 2021. subtext / fantasy
