Why would a delay be that bad?

Honestly I wish she had of waited until around late May- early June to release Stupid Love. In an ideal world the song wouldn't have leaked until later (or at all) and Gaga could have announced the whole album right away as well as the tour dates for the Chromatica Ball for July & August (I'm still hoping for the sake of LMs elsewhere in the world that there will be more dates announced or maybe a second leg for Oceania and Asia )

Coronavirus isn't her fault but this all is starting to look like bad timing :madge: which is just hella sh*tty and disheartening. i can't imagine how sad Gaga must feel right now. I can tell she had a lot planned for this era

I will say it for the final time

Yes I want the album ASAP

but I will 100% support gaga and the team because I always will

I support workers and everyone who is going in to work on this album day after day

if they can't make it work or think it's not the time that's fine, I'll wait bc I will always wait for her

So yes I would love the album to bop to and get me through this tough time ASAP but  will completely understand and respect the decisions of everyone

Health is most important

I just love her and will support her any time

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

Gaga should seriously consider opening a thread on here with a poll

Whatever option gets more votes, she's gonna go with that.

I mean

Big companies always hire people to help them with decision-making. I'm surprised Interscope still hasn't thought at having GGD help them for FREE

Girl if that was the case they can just release it as planned we know who's winning the poll already.

Anyways perched and hoping it releases as intended or leaks early.

@MessyTop also what he said... :spin:

I’m excited for this album just as much as the next Gaga stan. I was actually so happy she announced the title and release date as soon as she did after Stupid Love was released. To be honest, I actually didn’t even expect it to come out in April - I was assuming it would be MUCH later. If she and/or the label has to delay it, I completely understand. The circumstances right now with the pandemic effect EVERYONE, we’re living in dark times right now.

However... My biggest concern is that the entire album will leak too early before April 10th. If they’re going to delay it, she needs to announce it SOON. Because there’s no sense to push back the release date if the whole album is posted online. It’s  devastating.

Would I love to have the album ready to listen to on April 10th? Absolutely. But I also don’t want Gaga to have to compromise her execution of it... She won’t be able to do proper (or perhaps, in-person) promo for it like live performances, interviews... maybe not even shoot videos. It sucks that the pandemic is jeopardizing the rollout of the era and it literally has barely started... It’s nice to know that this basically effects all the other artists scheduled to release soon as well. We just have to wait and see what’ll happen.

See Gaga?

This is what happens when you delay and take years to drop a record because you keep looking after the “perfect time”

you end up releasing it in the middle of the worst global crisis in ages

This era will end up being way and I mean WAY worse than ARTPOP. If the album will be released as scheduled, it’ll come and go. The era will be dead one week later due to her not being able to do anything. Watch this fandom be unbearable once it happens.

It’s already started bad in comparison to ARTPOP, I’m afraid to say.... :ohno: When Applause leaked, she rush-released it SOON after - it was a “pop emergency”! When SL leaked, it took a whole month (and honestly, I don’t know WHY she waited so long..... promo deals I guess?).

It could’ve debuted higher had she not waited to release it, and would’ve kept a higher momentum rather than dropping to #30 after its 2nd week. Also, there’s been no live performances. :bradley:

The problem is. There might be a leak. Since physical copies are already produced. I think. Which will hinder the success of Chromatica.

Correct. I do understand the points being made, but we don't need another full album to leak. When Joanne leaked, she was already in pain from her fibromyalgia. That's all I can ever think about when her s*** leaks.

God Control

1. There could be a leak that could ruin her sales, astronomically.

2. Stupid Love didn’t do that well by her standards, so even if there was no quarantine, I don’t think she’ll be making that many videos anyway.

3. She could arrange for an indoor performance broadcast live, a small show where she does some songs in a small studio without any actual attendees and broadcast it live, kinda like The Kylie Show for her album X.

4. Even if she delays the album, there’s no guarantee that she’ll spend that time making more singles and music videos or anything other than silence until the tour.

5. Music and hype don’t live for long these days and people move on fast. If the lead single charter number 5 and the album comes 5 months away from it, many people might move on completely. Look at Katy Perry. None of her spaced-out singles did that well well by her standards.

6. An early release could take advantage of people staying at home and free, to stream her music and watch her videos, especially if she manages to put together some short film for the album and promotes it online.

I 100% respect your opinion! I completely get where you’re coming from and I think everything you said makes sense. I personally don’t want to see her postpone, just because we don’t know how long the virus will truly last. It would be different if she was just postponing it a couple weeks, but who knows what the state of this virus will look like in a month, two months, three months, etc.? Plus, while everyone is home with nothing to do, I think having this album would be able to help lift people’s spirits. The whole point of the album is “dancing through your pain,” so in a moment when a lot of people are struggling, this album could really help people do just that. Just my opinion though, there are strong arguments in both directions, and I will completely respect whatever ends up happening!
