Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia Has Leaked

Well, a load of fillers for an album with 11 songs... It's very good indeed, but the gays are overhyping it and pretending songs like Pretty Please, Break My Heart, Good in Bed could not have been recorded by Selena Gomez or Meghan Trainor.

It does its job in being nostalgic and stuff but it's nostalgic for the sake of it. It feels out of purpose, the lyrics are too monothematic imo

Isn't it expected to be nostalgic for the sake of it, when the name of the album is Future Nostalgia...?

Damn we JUST got The Weeknd and Adam Lambert’s albums, also Die Antwoord dropped theirs, I’m not sure I want to listen to so much new music at the same time. I think I’m gonna wait for Dua’s, it’s only two weeks and knowing y’all gays love to overhype everything, you’re gonna be done with it by the time we get the iTunes version online.

I'm just saying that it doesn't appear to be done with passion (like Carly Rae does, for example)

I wasn't a fan of Dua Lipa until this era, but I feel like she captured Carly Rae's entire essence in Cool. Gives me major CRJ vibes. But I'm in the minority because I only really liked Kiss and a few songs off of Emotion.

Yasss Cool was a standout for me for the same reason. As it was track 2, I really expected the rest of the songs to be like that one and got kinda disappointed. That's it, I'm not saying it's not a very good album. She deserves the success, I just don't hype it that much (people are calling it AOTY on twitter, c'mon).

I definitely think it's the best album so far this year, at least in pop music. Cool took a while for me to like, actually. The only track I really don't care for is Boys Will Be Boys.

The gays overhype everything tho, that’s to be expected, especially extremely well-made pop. But that’s just what you should expect from Dua, just well-produced pop with amazing melodies. I haven’t heard it, but from what others are saying it’s not like there’s a lot of lyrical variety and complexity. It’s just amazing fun pop, nothing beyond that. But I think AOTY needs to be more than that. After Hours is a good contender. Chromatica let’s hope it delivers, and from what it’s been said it is a nice balance of fun pop and more mature themes.

I was hoping the rumored Normani collab would be on this album :noparty:

But I'm glad to hear that the album sounds spectacular
