Woolfsmck 2,763
https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/20/investing/strong-dollar-coronavirus/index.html This is interesting.. The stronger dollar means...... More foreign investment during recovery and a strong financial sector ... banks, lenders, entrepeanairship as look like great places to be... Bad for trade .... us products will be more costly vs. foreign competition... Bad for manufacturing , auto makers.... Good for tourism, airlines and shipping.... What else? like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true

Economy 52,932
Not surprised. US has more financial room to maneuver for stimulus than Europe Also US & Canada are the only 2 developed Nations that were able to cut interest rates by any significance for stimulus (since everyone else was already at 0% or negative) Canada has to deal with the Oil Crash plus delayed effects of Rail Blockage shutdown from early year so maybe we not that safe heaven right now That leaves the US

It's been our biggest export for years We produce half what the US does (we are world's 4th largest producer) but with less than 40 million people so on a relative basis it's a much bigger chunk of our economy than shale is for the US In Canada's case the economic impacts are even greater than the financial imoacts. Our oil is more expensive to produce and smaller profit margins so, in terms of cash in tax revenue, it's not the same degree of loss Saudi Arabia or Russia would see cause only a fraction of revenue is actually profitable and then a fraction of that would be taxes But because Oil Sands are so labor intensive, in terms of jobs and economy and indirect jobs it's a huge blow My part of Canada doesn't get directly affected by energy sector and Oil but indirectly we feel it because energy is a big part of our stock market which has crashed more than most countries and there's still some lost revenue for Federal Government
