Not lying but also not being honest with reporting. A friend of mine in Italy mentioned how there are different methodologies when determining cause of death: for example Germany is not/does not do post-morterm tests whereas Italy does. So if a person who had pre-existing medical conditions such as pulmonary pneumonia then gets coronavirus, in Italy they would declare coronavirus the COD but im Germany they would just copy and paste the pre-existing condition and not bother with post-morterm tests. He says Germany has the same rate of infection as Italy but their “bookkeeping” technique masks the true number of infections.

They told me to look  it up myself (typical), which I did, and I found nothing that backed up their claims. All sources I found confirmed that it originated in China.

It's very telling that they chose to ignore me. If they really had sources that could back up their argument, why would it be a problem to just give them to me?

Yeah. SARS was in 2003. 

MERS in 2015 (it killed 36 people and infected 186). Luckily MERS is not really contagious, because it's really deadly.
