And more often than not, I always hear about the debt and the abandonment of most of the Olympic facilities in the hosted countries after the events roll over. (unless they were smart enough to facilitate it to other events)

1. Yes  they need a relief, Japan was f**ked up since  1986, right now Japanese elder population were already pass 28% of whole population of Japan. Their birthrate is kept falling down every single year (which means their competitiveness will get low too. ).

2. Just because it host by Japan government doesn't mean  everything about Olympics (like cancel or delay) can decided by Japan. Each time NBC will pay lot of money to IOC to bought broadcast rights,  which account for 50% of revenue of IOC. Which mean it's also decided by IOC and NBC (and WHO(care) too, maybe. )

3. The issue of debt and the abandonment is true, but Olympic can also bring a "greatest" benefit to host's tourism (but only if u need it.)

I have to laugh...they are trying so hard not to cancel but the world is clearly in no shape to be holding any large public events like the Olympics...wtf???

And then everyone catches it and takes it back home to their country to keep the cycle going? I understand these athletes have been training for years but they need to look at the bigger picture and postpone it...
