No news about cancellation yet. So far it seems to pull through still.

The Olympians should boycott it. I don’t care if they worked for it their whole lives. I’ve worked to get Chromatica tickets and it might be cancelled :crossed:

Yes, I understand why they really wouldn't want to cancel and why cancelling it would be devastating, but I don't think anyone even cares about the Olympics when we're in the midst of a global pandemic and countries are in lockdown. Then again, friends in Japan have told me that Japan has had its head in the sand with regards to what's going on (not my observation, theirs).

The Olympics aren't until August. I'm sure they'll go on. At least for the Asian countries because they actually faced the pandemic with swift action...

Japanese Olympic Committee official calls for postponement of 2020 Tokyo Olympics

A member of the Japanese Olympic Committee's executive board has publicly broken ranks with the International Olympic Committee, telling a Japanese news outlet that she believes it is time to postpone the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Kaori Yamaguchi, a retired judo athlete, told Nikkei that she believes the IOC is "putting athletes at risk" by asking them to continue to train, as usual, in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic — a message that president Thomas Bach and the IOC have communicated to athletes as recently as this week.

This is feeling familiar...

"Tokyo Olympics back on!"

"People across the world bring the disease to Japan, it never should have gone ahead!"

Do you feel him sir?

Welp, I forgot about the whole training thing :ladyhaha: yeah I guess athletes need to do that! Definitely not safe to be doing that at the moment.

Does Japan really need a relief for their economy though? (genuinely asking,)

And more often than not, I always hear about the debt and the abandonment of most of the Olympic facilities in the hosted countries after the events roll over. (unless they were smart enough to facilitate it to other events)
