StrawberryBlond 14,819 Posted March 20, 2020 Share Posted March 20, 2020 I went looking for the long version of GUY today and was panicking that I couldn't find it, thought it had been removed so only the short version was left and then I realised other thumbnails were updated and that's when I realised a big shake-up had happened. My verdict? An improvement Million Reasons - Better. Not great (that meme image!) but better than the original, which was essentially just a hat. Judas - Good. A more original look and close-up, so better. Joanne - Great. She looked pretty in the original but she looks next level in this one. Always Remember Us This Way - Awesome. The previous one was awful, had the sun obscuring their faces. Alejandro - Best choice ever. No idea why all these years it merely said ALEJANDRO, what a waste of potential views. A downgrade John Wayne - It's ok but the angle of it just makes it look weird. Bad Romance - Why? The original image was pretty and iconic. Applause - She looked basically naked on the original and hot, why sacrifice views for her looking scary?! GUY (long version) - Big mistake. BIG. Huge. That basically naked screenshot was probably what kept views coming to that 13 minute long epic all these years. And we're still 5.6 million views away from 100m and now you choose to switch it to something more PG? I'm not usually one for sexualisation but when did the music industry get prudish and not realise sex sells? Luckily, as we all know, screenshots aren't for life. Every few years, they get updated. And luckily, they can change back to the original. I've seen some good ones that got changed to terrible ones and they went back to the original after a few weeks. Maybe they get negative feedback or something. If a video is getting great views after a long time, please don't damage it by changing the screenshot, record labels. You bring it on yourself if you do. PS - Replay the long version of GUY while in quarantine, everyone!
