Morphine Prince 109,729
Early data analyzed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that younger Americans are at substantial risk of experiencing serious medical problems from the coronavirus sweeping the globe. That data runs counter to some of the early messaging from public health officials in other parts of the world. A new CDC analysis of more than 2,400 cases of COVID-19 that have occurred in the United States in the last month shows that at least 1 in 7 and perhaps as many as 1 in 5 people between the ages of 20 and 44 who contract the virus require hospitalization, a level exponentially higher than the hospitalization rates for influenza. Between 2 percent and 4 percent of people that young are admitted to intensive care units. The fatality rate is low, only 0.1 percent to 0.2 percent, but is about two times higher than a bad flu season. Source:

Economy 52,930
With the death rates among young ones so low I didn't imagine as many as 1 in 5 might require hospitlization
ctherainbow 3,162
Ye Gods. This is why the mortality rate doesn't tell the whole story. It's not really a fantastic result if you don't die but end up on oxygen for the rest of your life, or have permanent lung damage that requires an inhaler regimen. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby. People are so... selfish It shouldn’t take a pandemic for everyone to suddenly be a Democratic Socialist, but the Spanish flu and the Great Depression gave us social security and FDR Dems so there can be some good that can come from this

Mister G 10,513
People in that age group won’t listen until it’s too late. Shows how entitled some of them think they are as if none of these issues could ever affect them.
Flippy 14,443
I literally haven't left my house since I don't want to get anyone sick nor do I want to catch it... Diamonster 1,786
I have been taking this corona stuff with a calm approach, but respect, I have stayed inside and taken the precautions necessary, even if it might not kill me it's not going to be fun to go through it in the case of catching it, also I don't want to give it to someone older, or with a weak immune system. SharkmanthaC 115,084
This is why schools need to stay closed. This is so difficult for me being a teacher, but I really think closing schools is the best decision. Some of our schools are now opening daycares and it just doesn't make sense to me. she/her/hers

xoxo Craig 55,649
Finally people will hopefully grasp the severity of this virus and take it more seriously... it effects everyone, not just older people. And its death rate is pretty high also End Racism Now
