in canada schools have been closed since last friday, and authorities are already warning that they wotn open til the fall... we have 300 cases

There have been cases of reinfection.

And survivors of infection can have lifelong respiratory problems and reduced lung capacity.

For some it can be like living with HIV for the rest of your life.

There have also been human-to-dog transmissions.

It’s not the end of the world but it is an entirely brand new virus with repercussions that will continue to unfold and affect the whole word into the future.

Covid 19 does not have a fatality rate of 1% or less, many suggest its a lot higher... and currently the UK has a higher, yes HIGHER, death rate than the people recovered. To think that the majority of people will just recover from this like a common cold is not correct at all. 

But the majority of people in the long run will be fine.

Exactly nnn this is my main criticism of the UK Government... everyone else is acting fast with a fraction of the cases the UK has, and the UK is out here with everything more-or-less running as normal

These are news reports and not scientific studies yet. While the reappearance of Nicholas Cage with a flaming skull riding a motorcycle may not call for additional scientific studies, all of these cases certainly do. First, scientists need to confirm whether the test results were indeed accurate. Remember, no test is perfect. If people can screw up a drink order, they can certainly mess up a medical test. Even if a test is performed properly, you could still get a positive result when you don’t actually have an infection. On the flip side, just because you test negative doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no way that you are carrying the virus. That’s why a doctor may test you multiple times to be sure of a result.

Secondly, doctors and other scientists need to double-check or triple-check that each of these patients actually got re-infected with the virus rather than had an infection that simply lasted a long time. What if, for example, the cruise passenger and the tour bus guide each had fairly long infections and just happened to have intervening false negative test results? The tests could have simply been like commercial breaks in the middle of a single long episode of a television show.

Third of all, the amount of immunity that you build up after being exposed to any virus depends on not only virus itself but surprise, surprise your immune system and its response. When your immune system sees a particular virus for the first time, it can essentially get caught with its pants down, not ready to defend your body against this new invader. However, exposure to the virus either through a vaccine or getting infected may train your immune system so that, borrowing the words of former President George W. Bush, “fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.” If strong enough, your immune system then may be ready with proper defenses next time the virus comes calling. Could the cases of reinfection then be examples of people who happened to have weaker immune systems?

Nobody knows for sure. There was a study done in China of a biopsy of someones lungs that showed similar damage to that of lung cancer. Until more studies are conducted and tested, no one can categorically say "yes you will be 100% fine in the long run".   We could be looking at a future with 60-80% of the UK being infected with many suffering from lung defects or other things. We just don't know yet

But it's safe to say that we'll likely be fine in the long run.

I'm not in the UK, but I'm taking my A-Level (Cambridge) exams in May/June and I still don't know if that's happening or not, even though my country is in a lockdown until end of June

Right now it's standing at about 9% Death Rate, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

There's too many factors to have a definitive death rate. Just look at Italy where the Hospitals were overrun and they had to choose who lived and died. It all depends on Government and Public Reactions as well as the countries Healthcare systems.On top of all that even if you recover there can be Long terms effects on some patients.

Most universities in Scotland have closed and moved to online classes... I think over the next few days Universities in England will do the same. Maybe even have exams online

I would speak to your lecturer or try find out from the principal of your University

For those with pre-existing health conditions and the elderly, most of the people who are dying from it were in a bad state already.

But there's also countries like Africa without the Healthcare Systems in place to deal with a mass outbreak and 7 Million people living with HIV having compromised immune systems.
