Ironic how that ticks you off but complaining about it doesn’t actually change anything either so... hypocrisy?

I'm in quarantine, trying to protect my mother who's fighting cancer. That's what I'm actually doing. How's your life going?

Also, by American entertainment, you mean the one that thinks it's the most important in the world (as demonstrated by your post) and that needs to appropriate every other culture? Who's feeling off of other's entertainment tbh? Take a seat and get off my European tail.

Oooh someone is butt hurt

I just don't like empty words in general  This isn't against Britney per se, but against this whole culture of praying but not actually doing anything that could make things better. Like with gun control. So thanks, but we Europeans don't need to be lectured.

When someone asks you “how are you?”, you don’t tell them that your life is a complete wreck and detail every aspect of your shattered hopes and dreams. I’ve come to learn that “empty words” sometimes is just about civility and courtesy. Like, 95% of all conversation is small talk. It’s literally the little things that count.

Also, i love that American and European systems of thought and practice are so different. As an Australian, I find both to be rich and yet full of both wonder and disappointment. I’m glad they’re different and think it makes the world a more interesting place.

Yes this must be interesting to observe indeed. But people need to understand that empty words and courtesy isn't what we need right now. People are dying.

Once again, it's nothing against Britney. It's just a thought about the entire culture of thoughts and prayers. We don't need this right now. Like, I've just learnt today a member of my family was contaminated, what are your thoughts and prayers ****ing gonna do about it? Know what I mean?

I’m trying to quarantine myself but of corse I have a job that requires me to work so people can get food to survive. Thanks for asking. :trollga: But nice trying to dodge the topic. You literally just acknowledged being a hypocrite lol. Anyway, most cultures are formed from appropriation of others. And yes, that includes French culture too. And us Americans are doing just fine with our diverse amount of cultures that required the mixing of others. I have no shame in acknowledging that we created so many amazing music genres, foods, languages, etc. due to these “appropriations” :giggle:  Anyway I don’t really have a problem with Europeans, I recognize it’s a diverse landscape with so many great cultures and great people. But maybe take a step back and realize who’s fan site you’re on and the message she puts out. Lol. Anyway hope you stay safe. Oh sorry. Hope that didn’t offend you.

I'm on the site of someone who keeps saying she's Italian, and who probably doesn't put herself or her culture above anyone else :bye:

not at European monsters constantly trashing the relatively neutral parts of American culture while y’all feed off of American entertainers and trends. laissez-nous vivre

I’m sorry to hear that. I know it doesn’t mean much but I truly hope your family gets well. If it happened to me I would be so worried. Be strong (not saying you aren’t already strong) and positive.

And you did too. Getting mad at “thoughts and prayers” because “they do nothing”, but appreciate when people “hope” you get better and stay safe... these are literally the same things.  I never said American culture was better than another. You’re being a hypocrite and putting words in my mouth. You called out Americans because of your us vs them superiority complex. Sorry I called you out for it.

Saying I got mad is a bit of an overstatement. Then if someone wants to send thoughts and prayers my way, I'm not gonna tell them to **** off, am I? It's an expression that is triggering because it's been so overused in the past with tragedies, when people could have actually done a bit more. It was a mere critic about an American habit that I find frankly tiring, that was literally all, and you took it personally.

But since I don't think anybody meant any harm here, there was obviously a misunderstanding  somewhere, so let's leave it at that and move on.

Sorry if I came off as too defensive. It’s just when someone negativity speaks of my culture it rubs me the wrong way, especially when it’s something as simple as “hoping” for resolution which I know people in Europe do as well. :emma: Glad this mess is sorted out though. Now we bop to this French bop :bon:

Spoiler

Y’all better stan Dua in France tho or else your country is cancelled :vegas:
