She's only released one upbeat pop song that happens to not have 'deep' lyrics and that's already your conclusion? The way you say that sounds like she's been a sellout since 2013. I mean, ARTPOP is like the least understood of her albums and deals with a lot of stuff, literally during the ARTPOP era she went and said f*ck pop music and the gp. And with Joanne she deals with themes of trauma and loss and being a woman. We've only heard one song off from Chromatica and she wanted it to be a song to celebrate love and happiness. That doesn't mean the era will be simple or that she's selling herself out. I mean how is Stupid Love less complex than LoveGame, a song about wanting to ride d*ck?
