Regular use of vocal chops on Chromatica?

So far my only criticism of the music this era is the vocal chop sound that is present in Stupid Love. We missed out on an epic chorus because of that lazy sample. This trend is cheap, stupid, annoying and should be left in 2015. Yet producers don’t want to let it die.

That said, do you think that, due to the presence of more and more EDM producers on this record, it will be present on the whole album? I mean even the Babylon (Haus Labs) snippet seems kinda annoying with that thing stuck on a constant loop. Which is a shame because the piano, strings and beat are really catchy.

What do you think? Is BloodPop/Tchami/Axwell/whoever else keen on this? Will the excessive use of it cause the album to sound dated in a few years, like Purpose? Or will it only be on a few tracks and the album will be much more disco/chorus driven?

I'm not even sure what vocal chops are

Does the intro of this song use them? If so it depends on the song, I don't mind them!

I don’t mind, I mean they haven’t really been very present in modern pop music since like at least 2017-2018. I think it will be awesome to have that! It’s like PERFECT video game Nintendo music and that seems to be the kind of directions she’s going with the orchestral snippets.

Just a thought, in conclusion, this makes me excited actually! :firega:

The whales noises ruined the cure for me, and I would enjoy SL a lot more if it wasn't for that auto-tuned crying baby.

Also from her latest interview this was mentioned "Amidst a flurry of wild animal noises, references to partying in "BC" and fierce house beats, Gaga warns listeners to "battle for your life" on the track" so that should be interesting :billie:

I don’t think that refers to vocal chops, more likely some jungle sound effects thrown in to make the sound more exotic lol

It’s not for everyone, but it’s a fairly popular trend especially in dance music. Babylon has it too

And based off the reactions of Stupid Love a lot of the producers/music lovers like the vocal chops.
