As it turns out, Gaga does, in fact, recall her sometimes controversial third album. "I think it's funny that I'm not allowed to have a sense of humor," she says. "The internet is essentially a big joke, but if I tell one everyone freaks out. I don't regret my art, and I wouldn't suggest anyone do." Though ARTPOP couldn't possibly compare to the colossal success of Gaga's first two albums, it's certainly her most experimental to date. (Justice for "Sexxx Dreams," the hit single that never was.) "I look back at ARTPOP and look at music today, and I see a lot of things that were very..." Gaga pauses to find the right word. "Futuristic. Or they were ahead of their time, and I'm okay with saying that." https://www.papermag.com/lady-gaga-chromatica-2645479910.html?rebelltitem=26#rebelltitem26 OMFG YES Indeed it was. Nothing on the radio sounded like it at the time.

If you don’r understand ARTPOP as an album or how it was ahead of its time, then time may help you, like it has to a lot of people acclaiming it now. Guest
That's why she needs to re release it asap, with some little changes and actually dozens of never heard before and unreleased tracks like Tea, Partynauseous, Brooklyn Nights...
MACATL 1,474
Hmmmm I think it was a collection of good pop songs that were poorly produced. Sexxx Dreams was a prime example - I LOVED that song when she performed it live pre album release. Then I heard the recorded version and didn’t care for it. When was it before ARTPOP that you heard productions like Aura, Applause, Sex Dreams, Fashion! on mainstream pop radio? This is a facetious thing to say. ARTPOP was ahead of its time. It wasn't run-of-the-mill EDM a la The Chainsmokers or Skrillex. It was unique and retains a unique place in pop culture history. Nah, a lot of ARTPOP was inspired by 2011/2012 radio, which was a lot of Zedd and EDM ♥ Kindness Police.
