In my case my job provides medical and dental plans and a portion of our paychecks will go to our services. Depending on the insurance type you opt for it’ll determine your copay. For my insurance there’s different categories and essentially you can choose to pay less per month for your insurance with a higher copay or pay more into your insurance plan with a lower copay. Most doctors have payment plans you can opt into that are determined either by your income or your own choice. Somethings can be “expensive” like my tonsillectomy while a simple check up and prescription might in total only be 95.00USD. Any increase in taxes to pay towards healthcare would actually have me lose money if I use this years medical costs on my part as a way to determine how increased taxes as a means for healthcare for all WOULDNT save me money (and before taxes I only make 50,000 — not much to live on in the northeast ) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

And considering the rate of smoking their is quite high (31% of adults) - higher than in Italy and South Korea — the coronavirus is going to WRECK them .. no quality of healthcare system will be able to save people from their crappy healthy choices. The United states only has about a 10-13% of smokers.
