Pop music today is either violent and morose or hypersexually charged. Nobody right now is making uplifting electropop. Dua is tho.

LUCARTPOP 5,924
I kind of agree, the video itself had a great storyline, however the execution was underwhelming. What was done in 3 minutes could have been made in 30 seconds, even less. It's a step in the right direction - coming from videos like Perfect Illusion & Million Reasons, but there's still a lot of work, but at least Gaga is enjoying this era so far and that makes me happy! I will start with what I love. The song is great, and makes me feel good and wanna dance. It doesn't really captivate me lyrically, but it has a great instrumental and Gaga sounds amazing. I lived for the promotional billboards, the single cover, and the Chromatica font along with it. It felt very modern yet nostalgic, fresh for Gaga, and forward. Then... The video. The video took it back ten steps in my opinion. It's not even the iPhone thing, it just felt low-budget with the unflattering neon colors thrown all around each other. Also, the 'storyline' felt like it was geared towards children with how cringe-campy it was. I'm only disappointed with the video because I've seen Gaga deliver camp that still felt forward and modern, and unlike anything other artists are doing. I do feel the yes-men in the Haus of Gaga are dragging her down, because a consistent pattern with Gaga's projects to me is incredible ideas and less-than-great execution (hey Enigma). This is the same reason I'm not really here for an Arianna collab. Ariana is successful in her own right and can sing her ass off, but compared to more seasoned female artists she is what I would classify as the McDonald's of pop. I just felt like there was so much promise with a great track and lovely visuals but the video kinda reminded me that with Gaga recently execution isn't all that great. I might not be a manager or in the industry, but I do know that there is no reason lesser artists are putting out more polished projects. Gaga (or her team?) should get it together in that sense. To be honest, I think the video is great. Better than half the **** being put out nowadays - way better than any recent Ariana, Katy or Madonna video. I have no complaints with it, the choreography is already becoming a sensation and it did NOT disappoint.

No it couldn't. The choreography alone lasts pretty much the entire video. Retract that comment 😂😂🌚

brucee 1,690
I disagree. The song feels timeless. I feel like this album is gonna make me the same effect as Love + Fear. I really thought I was gonna love fear and get bored of Love fast. Though actually I bop so much harder on the love side. I think stupid love will be better in the album. And I love the choreo and the way it's filmed. The rest is just a back ground. hello hello baby.
Patrick Garcia 312
The coreography of SL video is her best since Judas.

As for it being better to any recent videos by other artists, well, that's just a biased reach. Any of the videos below from the Madame X era are way superior to SL. Every single one of them, and there's no denying it. If there's something Madonna delivered this past era is visuals.

Guest
After a few listens, I don't like the song, it's not that I hate it, it's not that it's a bad song, it's forgettable, not interesting to my ear, it sounds like a draft and unreleased song from Born This Way album. As for the video, it looks like it lacks something cinematic. The quality of the video (i mean the way it's filmed, the quality of the camera filming this) is bad, it looks like we are watching the behind the scenes of the real video. The raw footage. That's what I don't like. I liked the costumes and the scenery but I think it looks too raw therefore it looks like she has a costume on, same thing for the dancers, when in movies like Batman etc they do have a costume on and when you look at the behind the scenes pictures and footage they look goofy with the costume on but the COLORING and the cinematic editing (idk how to say this properly) makes the costume blend with the scenery and story etc... Maybe it's because it was shot with an Iphone and it prevented the editing team to do that or maybe they rushed to do this video after the leak.. Boring and too political, not what I'm after, God Control is pretty good and carries a deep message for current society. Dunno about the others.
