DC 25,164 Posted March 13, 2020 Share Posted March 13, 2020 I'm sure all of you know about my music by now from all the constant threads, mentions, and song spamming But something I've seen from a couple of other upcoming artists is the constant need to drop something, or make sure you release something every week At least that's what it feels like Listen, guys, TAKE YOUR TIME! The world can wait! Don't go through the stress of feeling like the world is trying to watch you fail while you scramble up unfinished songs just to put out for validation on yourself, cause it might feel good at first, but later on you'll look back on the music and see how much more you could've worked on them, like what I did with Technology and I started writing the songs on that album in June of 2018 Trust me! The world can wait! What you should do is take time off once you put out a body of work, enjoy your life, go out and do something that you enjoy doing, find inspiration and work your way up from that till you come up with one amazing concept you love from the bottom of my heart. Lyrics. Lyrics can be the most important part of your song, and you should ALWAYS take time on them! Sometimes I'll come up with a chorus, first verse, a bridge, and the prechorus all in one day, but feel stumbled on what should be in the second verse. So you know what I do, I wait. I upload the unfinished song onto my phone and listen to it as much as I can to the point where I can finally have a brilliant idea for a second verse that I'm happy with and it works every time! I did that for This Is How You Love Somebody, I was in algebra and I had it playing quietly in my headphones and I had this other verse that I don't really remember off the top of my head what it was, but it was awful and I was super unhappy with it So our teacher passed us our tests back and it turns out I didn't get an A, I'll just say that But I took that as inspiration, and came up with "Once you go and win her back, you'll feel just like a straight A test!" Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but at that moment, nothing would've made me happier than to have gotten an A on the test, so I thought and still think it's perfect Lesson of the day, PLEASE take your time! Take even a year if you need to! If I scheduled Blue to come out in February like what I wanted back in September, you have no idEA how bad it would've turned out So I'm glad I set it up for April, it gives me all the time I need, AND since everything's already written, I can just record and produce everything from this point on Once I'm done with Blue I'm gonna enjoy the summer and maybe even try to do more on my other channels like Dyllanc7903 (Dyllan Collis since the stupid google thing changed it ) and DCgamer Artists who might be interested in reading (NO POSSIBLE UNINTENTIONAL SHADE INTENDED! Just thought since you're an artist you might be interested in reading!
