So it is easier for Disney to do that streaming move, since it already honoured the contracts they made with movie theaters, aside from getting the munnies. They won't do that for their blockbuster movies, such as MCU or Disney Princesses films. Because of the said contracts they have with movie theaters and of course, all those munnies, gurl. Like, one movie tickets per person in general would cost around $11-$20, and let's say a family, since it's their brand, would have at least 5 person, that is $55-$100 alone, multiply that to general capacity of movie theatre, about 200-300 seats. Ka-ching! This is from one cinema, and there a6rr hundreds of cinemas which will screen these movies. And that is not including all the Disney/MCU fans who typically watching the same movies more than 2-3 times in a cinema. let's be real, not just Disney, but in general no movie studios who got blockbusters movies in their possesions would let those business opportunity away. Especially not when Disney+ and other streaming services would only take $7-$10/month and you can watch it with all of your family members, however many time you want as well. It is not as profitable. Which is why they have their own original shows to draw people in and make them stay. Streaming services main position for these movie studios are only there to replace the ancillary market aka the ultimate replacement for DVD/BluRay. And that is why Warner Bros also move Furious 9, and also Wonder Woman 1984 dates, despite the latter ones had been rescheduled one time before, than throwing them to streaming. Or Paramount with their Bond movies. All of these movies are having loyal audience and big money maker for them. I strongly believe they'd rather to hold it off for however long than to release them into streaming service. With that said, movie that they might deemed not as important such as Artemis Fowl or New Mutants is always possible to be thrown into Disney Plus or Hulu if need be. I think the next few months will be all over the place for the entertainment industry. They might just have to take some new directions and see what sticks. Wouldn’t count anything out at this point.
