Sold Out Shows

The event manager just told me to arrive early, because there GA is "the biggest in all arenas in the US" and you didn't want a bad spot. Also I feel like everyone has bought GA tickets this time for the pit. The show is at least 75% soldout, and there are probably a couple grand on the floor. I don't care about gross, I care about the Medonsters being mean because not every show soldout.

well i do want her to at least go over 220M, wich means she needs an average 1.5M per show(or so)

i think for her to top the 227M from TMB she would need almost every venue to be ACTUALLY SOLD OUT and i don't think that's happening, not because gaga's not capable of doing so, but because of the current time where there' so lil' info about what' she's been up to and the amazng feedback the tour has received all across the globe

Well, also this tour was a risk. She performed incredibly well in Asia, Australia, Europe, and Africa. In Latin/South America she was playing to people that had just bought tickets to see Madonna, and were making minimum wage. Nobody tours in those regions, for the most part, so that was a huge risk.

As far as the US goes, she hasn't put anything out since 2011, and the public only remembers Born This Way and The Edge of Glory. Considering the amount of tickets she's sold mainly from little monsters, gays, and their friends and family, is astonishing. Especially after Madonna's MDNA tour. Most people have seen Gaga live by now, on the Monsterball 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0, so they aren't going to buy a ticket to see her 2 years later. I bet the ARTPOPera/Ball will be huge, people will rave about the BTWB and she'll be more relevant. This tour was mainly pushing the envelope, seeing what she was capable of.

I talked to the radio about this over email (I was trying to get backstage hookups-as if haha) and they said that it was just because she hadn't released any music and also they told me how "crap" Rihanna's ticket sales were right after a #1 hit. I knew this already, but the reassurance and shade from someone in the industry made me feel a lot better.

Were they referring to the Tacoma Dome specifically when they said that, or just the entire tour in general? It certainly is amazing that she can still fill arenas even though her last single was released in November 2011 and the album it came from fell out of the public consciousness at the same time. And again, where they referring to her entire tour when they said that bit about Rihanna, or were they just talking about the NA leg for her? Because I've heard that Rihanna's tickets were almost all sold out there and I thought that couldn't be right, as she'd have way more than 31 shows if that were the case and she isn't even going to the biggest venues. I definitely believe that tickets went on sale before the release of her album for the first time ever because Unapologetic was so risky that the public might not be interested if they heard the album beforehand. It's a really sneaky way for record labels to grab the fans money, so they're stuck with going to see a rubbish album performed live.

i think the first ones to do this were the One Direction group, maybe Producers were like if it worked for them then it outta work for us

btw, when i start thinking about the ARTPOP era and the mentioned tour wich is going to start as gaga has said through LMs in 2014

i think the Volume 2 becomes such a GREAT idea(if it is finally going to take place) because she could release this new album around mid-year, give it around 1 single bfore and 2 after the release and then right around the end of the yea release a single from the 2nd part or second volume or whatever the name is and release the album a couple of weeks before or even the week the tour launches, this way she can put out maybe 3 more singles from that 2nd part and finally cut this breach TMB did for her, she has to reach a point where she has had enough break from touring and she can manage to start touring an album within 3-5 months after its release

I thought a majority of US dates were sold out

So I can still get tickets to L.A on January 20th? Too bad I'm ****ing broke.

ARTPOP Gypsy

What about those tickets that scalpers bought? I mean, sure it shows it sold good but if those tickets don't sell then there's going to still be empty seats. I'm just curious if that was taken into account.

I don't understand all the negative press she's getting saying she's not selling well.

Apart from the Nashville date, I don't think we have any need to worry about her sales.

Each date is almost guaranteed to sell out by the looks of it.

According to StubHub 461 tickets left for the first Vancouver show, 265 tickets left for the second Vancouver show and 675 tickets for Tacoma show

When did Stubhub become a thing for people to consider when looking at ticket sales? I've never heard of people citing it when looking at other artists tours.

Actually I read several articles of the Vancouver newspapers and magazines today, and the journalists were all very positive about the upcoming shows. They were kinda happy the concert tour is finally in the Canada and USA after so many people outside North America have seen the show

Who cares how many people are at the shows? Its all so childish and immature to care about who sells more, tickets, grosses more money, etc.

I could care less if ARTPOP sells 46 copies, as long as its good music and she stays true to HER vision then Im fine with it. Id actually prefer her play smaller club shows than these giant arena spectacles, granted their breathtaking and mindblowing, you tend to lose a little bit of the intimacy in a large venue. In the past couple years Ive seen Robyn, Kelis, Natalia Kills, and La Roux all in 2-3k capacity venues and theyve been an awesome time. You dont have the big productions and such but it gives the artists a chance to be more personal with their audience and give the artist the ability to be more flexible with their setlists, in regards to not having songs tied to big productions.

I always viewed Gaga as the sort of anti-Madonna, not being shady (love her too), in terms of how she connected on a personal level with fans whereas Madonna has always seemed slightly guarded and removed from her fans.

Sorry for this rant but all Im trying to get across is that were very lucky to have an artist who cares about her fans going out on tour and bringing us a show. We should not tolerate the bickering/trolling/silliness about album/tour sales. Would you not go see Gaga if she never had another top 10 hit or able to sell out an arena ever again? I would still be front row in a small 1,000 seat club belting out every word

Just remember, its about the music not about all this artificial fame/money/status/records that Gaga herself would be ashamed to see us CONSTANTLY argue over here.

The worst thing it's not if the show's sold out or no.. nobody cares about it.. we love mother monster anyway.. the worst thing is that if even 2 seats are empty the press will start a conversation about if lady gaga is a flop or no.. HARTED NEEDS TO STOP

HOTRODSGAGA

95% of these dates have sold enough to be considered sold out in box scores. Go team! :omgexcited:

At this point it's more about revenue rather than the sold out status.

And btw, what are the show we should worry about?
