If there’s really an Ariana duet or even another feature as the next single, it’s gonna soar

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

1) You guys need to understand the song wont rise until radio audience is much higher (something around 70M-80M audience). So be patient.

2) #5 will most likely be its peak and it might not return top 10 but still we should still aim for it to display some longevity right outside the top 10 with radio giving it the big push

3) By now I hope you guys realize that promo would do nothing for the songs chart run. It would give it a two day sales boost and then vanish again. Promo is only important when you have a strong radio audience so that the song may peak higher but at the moment it would just be a waste of Gaga's energy and the eras budget for her to do too much promo. Though she should absolutely do a lot more online promo and interact with the fans a lot more. There's no excuse for that and I agree with you guys on this.

4) Lastly this is more of a matter of personal taste but...what were you guys expecting with a song like Stupid Love? Sonically it just isn't it. It's so so dated imo and rather loud. The lyrics are uninspired and even the instrumentals are poor. Her voice is also a little bit over the top for pop in 2020. She chooses to pronounce things in an odd way to add distinction to her voice but it isn't helping imo and her grating vocal display in some part to showcase she is a strong vocalist is not needed when she has been able to display she is a powerhouse with crystal clear vocals before.

Point is let's give it some time to grow because it will grow but at the same time let's be realistic with our standards here. The song isn't it for many in the GP, the MV is questionable in quality / low replay value for many and Gaga is 12 years in the game. For her to have something truly smash hard it needs to be unarguably great. Stupid Love isn't that. It's cute at best and it will have a cute chart run if fans support it enough and if we are patient enough. Das it.

Not concerned, the song will climb back up once promo kicks in and more radio stations start spinning it.

A personal comment:

Since last week it's all about Coronavirus everywhere. Nobody bops, nobody dances, nobody cares about music.

I told a friend of mine who loves Gaga  about SL and she answered me "I have no mood".

Dark times indeed.

I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.

I have a feeling that all those positive reactors on YouTube liked the song at first listen but never streamed it ever again, which I feel is the case with a lot of the general public as well sadly. :bradley:

This isn't so bad to me, I wasn't even expecting the song to do as well as it has.

Gaga is secure in her career, she will be fine.

All of this stressing over the charts when the kid who is currently at #1 will be lucky if his career lasts past the end of this year. No disrespect to him, but lets be honest here.

The problem is people like the song and think it's catchy, but not enough to consume it. That's why radio love it. Its just a little bit mindless/throwaway. But radio is carrying the song, and it's doing well in English speaking countries, for example its only gonna fall to #15/16 in the UK. Its not a bad song there just hasn't been enough connection. It will continue to do well on the radio and in a months time you may be surprised with the songs performance. I still believe we will be able to call it a hit when all said and done, Gaga always pulls through. You know this.

Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight

I can definitely see SL rising in the future. My radio station here in NC has played in twice in the last few hours and that's astounding seeing as how they treated Shallow.

Love the song, and I will always be charmed by its surprisingly high debut!

That said, a lot of factors going against it:

-it is a loud pop song

-she may be one of the most successful and acclaimed pop artists as of recent, but she is no longer a young "it" girl anymore (same can be said for many of her peers)

-the song isn't a viral hit, which is a huge factor in The Box's success

-melodically and lyrically, it's way more "kooky" than "cool"

I'm just happy things are finally happening, and going well!

3 points in and ready for more
