My first election was 2000. Everyone young was going to vote for Ralph Nader, the Bernie of that time. Guess what? Most young people went to Nader's rallies.I sure did. Swore up and down they'd vote for him. Then no one came out and voted. Well, enough did to screw over Gore. I learned a hard lesson from that. I'm not here saying I don't like Bernie, I do. I'm being realistic. Young people America just don't vote, on average, the way older voters. It's just a fundamental truth. That has been painfully obvious in the primaries. Joe is wiping the floor with Bernie. The only one to blame is Bernie supporters. They just haven't shown up. OR maybe more people just feel more comfortable with Joe. That will happen, you young people will come to learn, over and over. You won't always get the candidate you want every time. The mature thing to do is vote for the next best based on the intangibles: Which of the remaining candidate will be best for the Supreme Court? Down ballot candidates? Help win the Senate and House? It's selfish and immature to pout when you don't get your way. At least that's what I've come to learn. Also, I'm not saying Joe won't need independent voters. I hope independents choose Joe over staying at home or voting for Trump. But that's out of my control . bro, it's the primaries not the general election. people don't need to vote for the next best or the lesser of 2 evils... primaries are about voting based on ideological aligning and of course ppl won't vote for bernie if the media/establishment's tune from day 1 is that biden's more electable lol. the odds were stacked against bernie from day 1 yet he still gets the younger and independent vote in landslides. if a moderate candidate like biden wasn't in the election bernie would take his demographic too as almost all democrats will obviously vote bernie over trump. your argument literally makes no sense. It makes perfect sense. Yes Bernie wins in a landslide for young people and independents. Totally. However, about 13% of total voters in the primaries so far have been young people. Though they make up a MUCH bigger percentage of total would be voters. MUCH larger. Most of those young people who didn't vote, one would presume, would be Bernie supporters (as am I btw). So winning a (unfortunately) tiny percentage of a voting block in a landslide is great and all. But if the entire or at least, say, half, of that would be powerful voting block actually got out and voted? Bernie wins the nom. Easily. Which, again, is what I wanted. But so many choose not to. I don't know why. It's just comes back to simple math. And yes I'm well aware you vote with your heart in the primaries, your head in the general. It's a very old adage, bro. Think of a world without Bush/Cheney. Ralph Nader and the Supreme Court really screwed us, knowing what we know now.

It's all good. We're all just trying to take the Orange Buffoon as best we see fit. I wish it would be Bernie. But now that it's seemingly Joe, I'm all in for him. I already voted for Bernie in my primary. Let's hope he can pull out a miracle.

I bet most of the people supporting him can't name one of his policies. Beating Trump isn't the only goal for some of us. If Bernie can tilt his policy approach, that would be great for some of us. If Bernie has decided to stay in even if there is no real path forward there is nothing we can do about it. But last I heard they wanted to make the "debate" more like a Q&A type of thing? Idk how true that is. I think joe is terrible, but I am absolutely supporting him now. he is obviously going to be the nominee. I want to do a lot more that just beat trump, but if that is not by far and away your top priority then you have to be extremely privileged.

Andy McQueen 4,484
I think Bernie is the only one who has a realistic chance against Trump. If Biden gets nominated, chances are Trump will win again. Moderates and centrists are nit strong enough against an extreme like Trump. Bernie as a social democrat/democratic socialist is "radical" enough in comparison.
