But yes, I agree, the video could have been that one redeemable feature but it made me dislike the song even more. It looks rushed, unimaginative, and awkward. Even when it’s clearly the first chapter or introduction to something bigger, that’s not an excuse for it to look that incomplete. The lore is almost nonexistent, and the lack of care and attention to detail couldn’t be more obvious. It’s more or less an apple commercial. Red vs. blue, pink for love, black for edgy, rough, and mysterious, and green for nature? It’s overused, just like flames/pyro/fireworks for entertainment. And the use of that much colour, saturation, and close to crushed blacks, give the visuals a very cheap presentation. I won’t even touch on the dancing. It was underwhelming and the criticisms is justified. This is what Gaga and her team tried to do with the video, but failed to achieve.
