I'm not worrying as much now that I've looked more into the Top 40.

A lot of them are country songs that will definitely not be hits like

Cruise

Wagon Wheel

Sure Be Cool If You Did

Done.

Boys Round Here

Mama's Broken Heart

Downtown

Get Your Shine On

:emma:

That's what they said about 'Home' :emma:

Not my point.

I thought your point was that country songs couldn't be hits

Home was a big hit, a lot of these songs could follow suit. Americans love country music

No

My point was that most of the top 40 may seem to be deprived of dance songs and filled with other kinds of pop music when in fact most of the spots aren't just pop music but a bunch of country songs.....

If we extend it to the top 100 there's still only 11 dance songs or 11%. As you know, I still stand by my theory that Gaga's absence is a huge factor in this.

Dangerous Man

Hip/Hop/Urban/RnB/Rap are dominating the charts now. Even those ballads came from the artists of those genres.

Ughh.. still unsure if WIWYM will top H100 next week coz of it's low streaming points in comparison to TS. YT views seems to be a big hindrance for this song lately. :confuse:

If only Bruno did a good MV for this song... :fail:

Say bye-bye to dance music, guys. Only 3 in the iTunes top 40.

Not Britney having the last big dance smash! HER POWER.

Well, Britney can basically release anything now and she'll get played and sell. The benefits of the FF era that every fan seems to undermine. :emma:

Wait- then when did electro-pop/dance music become a trend? I thought it was already popular in 2007 Fergie had that electro-ish "Clumsy" song and Britney's entire Blackout album. Plus, I think "Sexyback" was released around that time.

Its weird to think that there was a time when dance/pop music wasn't dominating... :o

With S&S still in the top 20 of the HOT 100 chart and the top 40 of iTunes after over 18 weeks since its release, the drawing power of Britney Spears clearly still has longevity. So proud of her.   Is Album 8 still pushing through for this year?
