And as thoroughly blah and mediocre OMN is, I think it's kind of funny how it's been cockblocking GS. Fine with me. That **** novelty song doesn't need to be legitimized in any way other than the ones it already has. It's viral video is fine. Now it can go away. Exactly how I feel about this song. I know it looks like she could but I just have a feeling she won't. She very well good it's just my intuition telling me this. It will definitely debut over 1 million. Taylor is a sales monster right now. Her first week sales will undoubtedly slay, I'm just not sure about longevity. I see a Born This Way chart run for Red. All of the fans will download it the first week and then it will just drop off. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.
craig 680
Other countries listen to English songs. It would nice if American radio wasn't too damn afraid or intolerant to play non-English lyrics. That's all that's stopping PSY .. cause you know if it had some **** lyrics by LMFAO or BEP it would get the airplay.

It will depend on marketing and what sort of deals she has with Amazon and Target. Last time Amazon discounted her album to 3.99. Her "new" pop fans who cherry pick a single or two off itunes won't necessarily be buying the album. See Nicki Minaj.

But just because a pop fan likes WANEGBT and last week's promo single doesn't mean they are buying a whole country album. Lot of those types won't even buy a whole pop album from Katy P. Her best selling singles/promo singles off Red have been IKUWT and WANEGBT. Both pop singles. Other singles like Red, Begin Again, and State of Grace fell much quicker. Pop fans won't buy Taylor's full album.
hausofmike 127
Red held pretty stable. State of Mind is the fastest to fall but that's because it was a week before the album

All of the tracks released for Red so far have been major successes. Obviously, when you compare a mega-promo success like IKUWT to more country oriented tracks such as Begin Again, it looks like the less-pop songs didn't do so well. They did, though. Any promo single that flies straight to number one and sticks for even a day or two is a major success, in my opinion.

I actually have bought all of them besides SOG. My point is that the pop tracks have lasted much longer. And pop fans are less likely to buy a full country. Which will effect her sales in some way
hausofmike 127
The only other song from RED I can see doing somewhat well is "22" the rest are just fillers

I think that nicki minij is the example of what Taylor could become if she starts relying on pop fans as her main platform. Right now, though, she has a solid country fan base. I thought that there were only maybe one or two fillers in the entire album. She really impressed me. It's just that most of those songs are more along the lines of a classic Taylor country ballad. Most of the songs aren't single material. I don't think that they are fillers though.
