Yeah for those that said Kesha and Rihanna are flopping, wishful thinking but not true... Lol

No one said Kesha was flopping... lol

And no one said that about Rihanna either, just that Diamonds isnt nearly as big as her past hits

Yea, I wouldn't call Diamonds a flop..but unless things change (which they could!), it looks like it will be a minor hit. People are comparing Diamond's chart run so far to WFL and Only Girl, her last two lead singles. When you look at it like that, it is very underwhelming. What I don't understand is why Rihanna's team released this as their lead singles. Didn't they learn from the rated-r era that these sort of songs don't do well? People want dance music from Rihanna. I'm sure that if she releases a big dance single as her second, it'll smash.

The fact that a majority of the general public doesn't even know about Diamonds or Die Young is kind of underwhelming. Haven't seen anyone talk about those songs/

I thought they'd catch on after almost 1 month. But they're still not flops.

I thought about it last night, along with many possible choices for Gaga, and I have a theory for why Rihanna is underperforming.

In an election, you don't cheat on numbers and try to feed too much in people's minds that you're getting a landslide, because you put a stop to the urgency to vote. You also risk overexposure, making people overlook you strengths and highlight your weaknesses. All this toxicity is bound to make the politician only too exhausted and disillusioned, resulting in legal rallies as lax as Obama's in the first debate...

Rihanna has always been queen of crossover and collabs - benefiting from dual support from pop and rhythmic radio, and working with everyone from Eminem to Coldplay. Most of her biggest hits involve a feat.

The downside of that is her popularity is thinner and weaker than you'd think from her singles chart success. She doesn't sell itunes singles, let alone itunes, in any way equivalent with her radio airplay numbers.

Even though Dianmonds is only selling 75% of Kesha, and trailing K$ on Pop and Hot AC, Rihanna is still ahead overall on radio because of Rhythmic. But that won't be enough for a #1 this era.

I honestly haven't heard it on the regular radio but I heard it on XM radio over the summer and I was like :wtf:

Random thought: I am getting big MJ teas from Brunos new single
