I don't think it's the label. As much as I dislike RCA, Interscope is no better. They pay anyone who isn't Gaga DUST. I mean, they didn't even fund the video for Scream & Shout, will.i.am said he paid for the video himself. What kind of label doesn't fund a music video? :wtf: With X-Tina, nothing can really save her. The reason she flopped in 2010 was because her dance music was mediocre in comparison to the dance music that artists like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna were making. In 2012, same scenario. Lotus failed to distinguish itself once again from the rest of the albums released by her contemporaries. The only reason Britney was able to hold out was because of the sheer size of her fan base. Without them I don't know how she would end up. Unfortunately, Christina was also at a disadvantage in that aspect because she simply lost a lot of fans during that 4 yr. break b/w Back to Basics and Bionic. SO many new artists came along during that time, that it was really easy to just abandon her.

What she needs is a change of SOUND not a change of label. She needs to go back to that jazz, blues, soul sound present in Back to Basics and Burlesque soundtrack and maybe she'll see a nice boost in album sales. At least enough to go Gold. Not only that, but a drastic image change is necessary. In the pop world, one can't be overweight. Sure, Christina has a nice body still but for POP star standards... :rip:

Well, as what I said before, she doesn't needs to do dance music or copy gaga and the other modern popstar. I also want her to go back to her own genre or do more great ballads.

Also, I didn't talk about RCA paying for their artists' promotion instead, I'm pointing out their promotion strategies (like why they didn't made Xtina perform Just A Fool during People Choice Award?). Paying too much money for promotion cannot guarantee that your business will be successful. I just hope their radio deals for S&T can help the song stay longer on charts because if it doesn't, it will be a total waste. I guess, Interscope (if what you said is true) is just unsure about S&S that's why they didn't spend their money for it because it will just a big waste if the video couldn't help the song but fortunately it helped S&S a lot.

Of course, changing label is not a guarantee that Xtina's career will be save. But nobody knows if she doesn't try something different.

After two consecutive albums which both tanked in the charts, I think she should just take a break from the music industry, at least for now. A change of label may help on the other hand, but that does not really assure a favourable outcome. It's just that the industry is over-saturated with pop stars these days, I guess. But I still hope that she could have her own "We Belong Together" moment in the future as she does have a great talent.

That's true.

Ehmm... maybe you're right about her taking a break again from music industry.

But the same thing might happen again. I really believe she just need to try something different (either music genre or label).

Agreed. At this point of her career, I think she no longer needs to compete with today's pop stars. She has already achieved so much back then. An album filled with ballads showing her vocal prowess would be great on her, well at least for me. I would be more than happy if she could somehow assist the return of R&B back to the top of the mainstream.

Thrift Shop has a 2nd version at #13, so now doubling sales of nearest competitor (1.26 to .625).

Abandon all hope of #1, current songs - he'll be unstoppable for another month.

C'Mon at .21 isn't much behind Pink and Alicia Keys current singles of .23.

Thrift Shop would be a great chart leader for at least a month. The only huge release expected in the coming weeks would be Beyonce. But beyond that, I see no other real threat for Thrift Shop from enjoying itself for a lengthy reign. The only other possible contender could be S&S with its remix, depending on the impact its music video may bring.

Did you check the setlist for Beyonce's superbowl halftime show ?

She is singing Crazy in Love and 3 songs with Destiny's Child and one of them is Nuclear :pukey: Isn't she going to promote her lead single there ? It is cool to invite Kelly and Michele to perform Survivor but this is Beyonce's moment she need to perform her lead single and etc. . . weird

I'd be stunned if she would not take the opportunity to drop her lead single in a huge event like a Super Bowl half-time show.

Some fans are saying that it might chart separately but I'm not completely sure. We'll see soon. All I know is that we're getting a video! That might imply that it's a completely different song since you don't usually record an entirely new video for a remix. So... if it DOES end up charting separately, I wouldn't be totally surprised.

I hope it does chart separately, I want IKYWT to get that #1 :spin:

Maybe Christina Aguilera's career can be saved by Pitbull :teehee: I think he will be releasing Feel This Moment as a single.
