Klou 2,414
That is what Rollingstone and Spin feel. I listened to her album and I'm interested with the risks she took. Not so sure she has a 100% hit single to follow. We shall see. I don't hear a single sure fire hit on that album. Everything is pretty lukewarm. Ozzy8923 9
*Born This Way was not necessarily risky MUSICALLY. Most of the elements that composed the album have been used before. However, the fact that most of the record is heavily 80's oriented and has a very classic feel to it reminiscent of songs released in Gaga's generation and childhood is risky TO RELEASE because it is not the type of sound most artists are pursuing right now. In other words... Musically Risky: NO. Commercially Risky: YES. Very. But I will use Gaga's own words to summarize the overall experience of the Born This Way era and how we should put that into use for ARTPOP: - Lady Gaga. Klou 2,414
I have to admit I'm not really THAT excited for ARTPOP anymore. Maybe that was Gaga's intention with releasing crappy songs like Cake to hold us over, but it puts me in a good spot to not have too high expectations. Plus everyone has been releasing such crappy music this year I guess I'm just used to being disappointed lol.

Also, i think it's been long enough since weve had a new album from her that I'm just into other artists at the moment

I mean look at my avatar and signature lol. I think a lot of the fanbase is the same... A lot of focus on Lana, Ke$ha, Marina, etc..

A lot of focus on Lana, Ke$ha, Marina, etc.. it's a mix of the break and partly because the last era left the fanbase completely fractured and a bit demoralized depending on which side you fell on. Ozzy8923 9
I still have a feeling, and hope, that ARTPOP refers to the CONCEPT of the record or "genre" of music that Gaga and her producers decided to pursue with this record. It's a possibility and I don't consider it unlikely. I would prefer for the record to have a more interesting and creative name than ARTPOP. It's not a BAD name but there are better ones out there that Gaga has spewed out, Private in Public being my favorite.
Ty3009 232
I'm hoping that the title changes as well. It almost undermines the record itself. I'm calling it now that 9 critics out of 10 will comment on the title being pretentious.
RabbitHeart 795
I don't hear a single sure fire hit on that album. Everything is pretty lukewarm. I see what you did there but seriously. It was as if she was trying for an Animal+Cannibal retread and an indie-pop record at the same time. Warrior's score is based on 14 critics. The Re-Up's score is based on 8 critics. Born This Way's score is based on 33 critics. THAT'S why the first two albums are a couple of points higher. I think, since PFRRTRU was a re-release, it won't get as many reviews so it'll stay relatively high for an album...like that. And I just can't with the negative reviews for BTW, especially the 0 rating
