HausOfBee 0
Bought Warrior today. I just keep hoping it would grow and me and it has a little bit, but I still find myself regretting buying it. I don't get all the fuss because I just don't think it's very good. That's why I listened to it on Spotify first, I can't really get into any of the songs other than Supernatural and Crazy Kids. She'll probably sell well though

Ty3009 232
I honestly think that Warrior is a step back from Animal. She's further cementing herself as a singles only artist with a few incredibly generic tracks that will do well on radio.

Let's not forget that generic tracks that do well on the charts is what POP stars do best. Pop singers are exactly that. They make popular music for the masses. It shouldn't be a bad thing. :fail:
Jake 0
Warrier is good. Better than Animal and Canibal. Not revolutionary, but a strong pop album. Gold Trans Am :legend:

MANiCURE1295 8,673
it was her first BIG live US performance. she hasnt had a big live performance in the US since then. every performance that ive seen for tv shows - each time shes getting stronger and stronger - not as super confident like gaga but shes getting there Okay but if your first big performace sucks what does that show to the audience? It doesn't look good. Even if she keeps getting better. People aren't here for a sucky performer. And that's the kind of vocals she had that night. They blew chunks. Ozzy8923 9
Pop stars NEED hits. However, they should not risk the performance/reception of their album to get those hits. After all, singles, in essence, are released to promote the record, which is arguably the most important aspect of an artists' work. So, the fact that artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha, even Britney, seem to be focusing on singles as opposed to their entire album reflects a negative connotation because they're undermining their own record. Gaga always put as much emphasis on her album as WHOLE and not just select singles. You can tell she is passionate about the WHOLE thing and not just select songs. Probably why she performs album tracks that aren't singles on her show or sometimes on live TV. Speaking of pop stars needing hits, do you guys still consider it possible for Beyonce to be grouped with the likes of other mainstream pop stars? I mean, she isn't a very strong digital seller (her only single that sold above 3 million was Irreplaceable and Single Ladies). Not to mention, she pursues R&B and not dance music like Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, and Britney. Speaking of R&B, the highest first week sales for an R&B album in the past year was Alicia Keys' Girl on Fire with 161K. HUGE decline from the 417K she sold first week with her last record in 2009. Basically, R&B is in the pits and I think that means danger for Beyonce and I fear that, even though she has a large fan base, she will continue to lose radio dominance (or will fail to gain any) with her upcoming era if she does not pursue a more mainstream sound and her digital sales will remain lackluster. craig 680
Poor Kesha is only #22 on UK itunes. http://www.itunescha...bums/2012/12/04 After Rihanna, Katy, and Gaga became so dominent, it's been hard for any other dance pop females to become stars of that stature. Beyonce can't keep making R&B as if it was 2004. Same situation as Madonna on the 90s when tastes changed. She's better positioned than AK, because she's done more wide-ranging, adventurous, uptempo music. Alicia is a poster girl for generic bland R&B that needed to die. But her uptempo songs (that were arguably R&B, not as mainstream/generic as Alicia's but still R&B nonetheless) that were released as singles last era all performed poorly. Clearly, the general public and radio was not here for her. It seems like the only way Beyonce can get a hit on Pop radio is either a ballad or dance song. Let's see what she's cooking up for her next record. 39 +2 WILL.I.AM & BRITNEY ...
