Arturo 40,746
Everyone's sick of Rihanna. At least that's the feel I get. WFL debuted in the Top 20 too.
Math 92
Diamonds shall thrive eventually. Rihanna is the queen of US radio right now.
Bad 32
I think Diamonds could recover with a really good music video. Otherwise it'll probably end up like Where Have You Been...overplayed on the radio but lackluster sales. Mumford and Sons predicted to get a 3rd week at #1 :legend:
jhonyguy04 3
Bulleted is an exaggeration. It's only 2 spots down and it is holding strong in top 10 iTunes. I don't think it's gonna flop.
MANiCURE1295 8,673
Diamonds shall thrive eventually. Rihanna is the queen of US radio right now. I don't know. It's so hard to tell with all the Taylor Singles. It's difficult to see where songs "really" stand, if you know what I mean.
StrawberryBlond 14,263
I wonder if Def Jam are fretting over the fact that Rihanna's released 28 arena dates in the US and Canada for her next tour when her lead single is currently underperforming in these regions? Even when Rihanna was in her peak years with GGGB and Loud, she still had difficulty selling out arenas in North America and she had major #1 singles supporting them. In fact, with her GGGB tour, she was still performing in halls and ampitheatres and only had 22 North American dates. Her biggest North American leg was for the Loud tour and that only had 32 arena dates in the US and Canada and she couldn't even sell them all out. I'm sure Diamonds will pick up considerably once it has a video but the fact that it has started falling in its second week is not a good sign. Now, I know you'll start saying: "WFL debuted on the chart at #16 too and it ended up going to #1." Yes, this may be true, but the difference is that WFL rose every week (I think). In its second week it rose to #9. Diamonds fell two places in its second week. Overall, it took WFL six weeks to go to #1. By the looks of things, Diamonds is going to struggle to enter the top ten at least until a video is released. I also thought One Direction would be massive in the US right now, yet their chart track has been almost the same story as the UK's.
Arturo 40,746
Taylor Swift's album will be available in all Papa John's restaurants She has a promo deal with them . StrawberryBlond 14,263
I had no idea WFL rose in its 2nd week. For some reason I thought it fell like Diamonds....hm. You can look it up. I can't find the chart track for the other four weeks it took to go to #1 but I do believe it was a gradual rise every week, as a single should do. I am honestly surprised that Diamonds isn't following this pattern. Is it true that US radio isn't overly supporting it?

It's not doing nearly as well as Ke$ha. I haven't heard Diamonds on the radio while I've heard Die Young numerous times.
Ozzy8923 9
Britney Spears and Will.I.Am will be shooting a music video for Will's newest single "Scream & Shout" (it was originally thought to be titled Sexy Sexy, those rumors have been disputed) on October 13 and October 14 and will feature male/female fire breathers and professional dancers. Yay! Anyways, this means that the single will be released around late October or November. It will most likely have great opening week sales (I would estimate around the 200K-300K mark, not beyond 400K) and radio airplay in the US and possibly in the UK (Britney is not really popular there anymore, her highest peaking single from her latest era was HIAM at #6 but Will has scored 2 Top 3 singles in the UK, his latest debuting at #1, so it should be nice to see her score a Top 3 single there for the first time in 4 years and possibly her first #1 in the UK since 2004). Tommymonster44 0
You can look it up. I am honestly surprised that Diamonds isn't following this pattern. Is it true that US radio isn't overly supporting it? I've been a little busy with school lately, so I'm a little distant as far as charting observations go. However, the radio does seem to be picking this up. Obviously, because it's Rihanna. She's had so many hits over the past few years that they would play any lead single that she releases. However, it's not rising as fast as it should be for a lead Rihanna single. Ke$ha's single came out the same day, and it's 200 spins and 4 chart positions above Diamonds. It also has a 10 million audience lead and a larger bullet. Rihanna's bullet is still the second highest on the chart, but it's been dropping already. So the single is definitely taking off on the radio. I'm just not sure if it's going to be a giant hit or not. At this point, all of the signs are saying that it will be a fairly decent radio hit and a top 10 itunes song. However, things could change very quick at this point. With the release of a good video or remix, or even just letting the song "cook" on the radio for a couple more weeks could allow it to take off. WLF did stall on the radio for a short time. The only difference was that it had a massive debut and rebounded sales-wise before it smashed on the radio. Diamond's debut was fairly disappointing and we haven't seen any signs that it is about to get a major sales boost.
Arturo 40,746
I like Kelly's new single :) It's not amazing, but it's still good. I hope it's a Top 10 hit However, it's not rising as fast as it should be for a lead Rihanna single. Ke$ha's single came out the same day, and it's 200 spins and 4 chart positions above Diamonds. Sorry, but the radio talk confuses me, what's does a song's "bullet" signify?
