soixont 614
But honestly, do those #1 hits prove anything for Katy...? Like seriously? I'm not shading her or anything, but the public won't remember what song went #1, they will remember a song for it's impact. Arturo 40,746
But honestly, do those #1 hits prove anything for Katy...? Like seriously? I'm not shading her or anything, but the public won't remember what song went #1, they will remember a song for it's impact. Exactly. Just because it was #1 doesn't make it any better or more iconic I mean there are tons of songs that went #1 in the past decades and don't even get played on the radio But Thriller (#4) by MJ and Holiday (#16) by Madonna are still remembered and played a decent amount of times a year Will they be playing Part of Me in 20 years? No. But I'm sure they'll be playing Bad Romance (#2) and The Edge of Glory (#3)
leoj 2
But let's look at Ri, Her first 12 singles in the U.S: Pon De Replay #2 If It's Lovin' That You Want #36 SOS #1 Unfaithful #6 We Ride #107 Break It Off #9 Umbrella #1 Shut Up and Drive #15 Hate That I Love You #7 Don't Stop The Music #3 Take a Bow #1 Disturbia #1 4 #1 singles... Not that much of a difference from Gaga... Now if Gaga also had 30+ singles and only 3 went #1, then we'd be talking Well.. Bad Romance sold way more than rihanna's #1 hits like I mentioned and didn't go #1.. and I'm sure telephone sold more than all of those #1 hits too.. and TEOG probably sold on par with them.. both having peaked at #3.. it just doesn't really seem right imo.. especially when people scream out that rihanna has 12 #1 hits.. when gaga has songs that only managed to get into the top 5 that outsold rihanna's #1 hits by a landslide almost.. But honestly, do those #1 hits prove anything for Katy...? Like seriously? I'm not shading her or anything, but the public won't remember what song went #1, they will remember a song for it's impact. but they'll probably remember the fact katy tied or beat MJ's records for #1 hits from a solo album.. soixont 614
but they'll probably remember the fact katy tied or beat MJ's records for #1 hits from a solo album.. Yeah but they'll also remember almost every GaGa television performance (in music awards) and her iconic outfits ALONG with her music, and Katy's record is actually embarrassing when compared to Michael's...I mean seriously...those generic songs prove nothing.. I guess lurking over at atrl is just steaming my head up.. considering rihanna has so many fans over there.. who think she's the queen of pop.. and even claim that she opened up doors for people like lady gaga.... Hahaha, well don't get too caught up in the charts or numbers, because in the long run they don't mean anything - it's the music that matters! So just enjoy whatever you like to listen to. Ozzy8923 9
The only Top 10 Gaga single to not go at least Double Platinum is Judas so, aside from that, I would say that her Top 10 singles have sold well enough but obviously not as well in comparison to her earlier singles. Scream & Shout #214 on iTunes and rising It's on iTunes?! YAS! As a fan I should know this stuff.
Arturo 40,746
Ho Hey needs to leave the Top 10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh look, Ri actually did help write several songs on Unapologetic. She would be the lead writer of Pour It Up http://www.rihannanow.com/news-article/unapologetic-album-credits/

I think she may break/tie the Gaga/Mariah record Yeah, that album is full of hits. Supernatural will smash for sure. We haven't heard Crazy Kids, but Jeff said it was his fave on the album, and was better than Die Young
