That is very SUBJECTIVE. I bet the GP would never thought of this thing.

I don't think I ever claimed to speak for everyone, nor do I think my opinions should be dictated by the "GP" who have made terrible songs like "Feel This Moment", "Started from the Bottom", "Cruise", and "Heart Attack" some of the biggest hits of the year.

2012 was bad but better than 2013 so far.

At least last year we had MDNA and Ke$ha and Carly Rae Jepsen and a Britney song.

So far this year: Selena Gomez.

With the exception of Carly Rae Jepsen, I wouldn't call any of those my highlights of 2012, but I agree with the overall sentiment. 2012 had a lot of **** (I will never forgive anyone who bought "Whistle" to make it a #1 hit), but there were definitely some bright spots: the year's biggest hit ("STIUTK") was actually amazing, Lana Del Rey (as overrated as she is) delivered two decent records, and like I already said, Carly's album was surprisingly good.

So far this year, I've only been impressed with Justin Timberlake's new album, but I grew tired of it REALLY quickly.

Question: Do you like this year's biggest hit (so far), Thrift Shop?

Well, let's take a look.

Rihanna -

Diamonds video sucked. At least his had dancing to make it more entertaining to watch.

Stay - :rip: God damn terrible.

P!nk -

Blow Me:  Not only was it B&W, it was also poorly executed and also very boring.

Try: Good choreography. The rest was a cheap, homemade mess.

Haven't watched JGMAR, nor do I plan to.

Bruno.

Why does he even make videos?

Taylor.

WANEGBT: Cheap, try-hard, and immature.

22: See above.

IKYWT: WFL knock off but not even 1% as good.

There you have it. Jason Derulo's VIDEO is better. Song is cute.

P!nk makes adult videos, for her adult pop songs. She doesn't cater to the youth like everyone else in the industry. And she's pulling off some amazing numbers. Three Top 10 singles, two Top 5 singles, one #1, an album that's sold 1.5 million, and her era still has a long way to go.

If you find her videos boring, it's too bad you can't appreciate them. Try was by far the best video we've gotten in a long time. I just hope to god she can win something for it at the VMAs. And JGMAR is also a beautiful, well done video. Way better than this Jason Derulo autotuned mess.

I agree.

It's a catchy song with a great beat. Right now, I'm a little annoyed with it because of how overplayed it is. It's a good song, but I would hope something else ends up defining this year in music, and it's certainly not the best song of the year thus far (that would be "Just Give Me a Reason").

I'm impressed by Stay's longevity. This era seems to be very successful so far (at least in comparison to her previous one). As generic as RN is, I'm still really excited to see how it will do.

Since 22 cracked the top 20, I wouldn't mind letting her peak at #10.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part since I don't like the song and Rihanna has been really extra lately, but with the recent trend of several generic hit factory pop songs flopping or underperforming, I'm thinking that "Right Now" may flop.

Why is Same Love rising?

Maybe somebody performed it on American Idol, or the video for CHU made people watch the video for Same Love and ended up buying it? I hope it keeps rising, because it deserves to top the Hot 100. I could imagine it being pretty big in late Summer/early Autumn.
