I've never met anyone who doesn't like Kelly Clarkson....

She may not have a stanbase, but she's just generally liked by, well, everybody.

She has never given a bad performance. Voice is spot on all the time. And her songs are catchy as ****! It's so nice to have her on the radio in between the Rihannas and Katys.

I'd much rather Katy or Rihanna.

Not meant to be shade though, she's a great singer. It's just that when I read that, this video was the first thing that came to my mind.

'Kay. Keep the basic autotuned messes, I'll keep my Kelly.

Let's be honest . . . even this was better than 90% of the performances Rihanna and Katy have given :coffee:

So, Maroon 5's One More Night has ended its 21-week run in the top 10 of the HOT 100 chart this week. What a great run it has been. Here's for Daylight to reach, even half of the success of OMN.

OMN will forever make me hate Billboards new rules. It's out of the top 30 on iTunes and just now leaving the top 10. That's not right.

I liked the song, but its success was dominated by radio DJ's incessant need to play it, not its digital sales, the better marker of how well a song performed.

i see no Blackout singles tho :noparty:

It's interesting how much radio did not want to play the singles from "Britney". "Blackout" too, I guess.

Yep. Those were 2 album eras her singles were ignored on Pop. The highest peaking single on Pop from Britney was Slave 4 U @ #15, Overprotected halted @ #37. The Blackout singles also did very badly on Pop: Gimme More - Can't find the exact position, but I know it didn't reach the Top 20 or, if anything, Top 15. Piece of Me - #28. Break The Ice - #21.

I agree. OMN is the prime example of what's wrong with Billboard's system. Honestly, the chart has lost it's purpose entirely. Even so it's still regarded as the most accurate assessment of a songs popularity, my personal opinion is that it's completely irrelevant.

When the chart first started, the point was to inform DJ's and music enthusiasts of a song's popularity so that they could make better decisions as to what music to play and which trends to follow. Today, the chart basically tells DJ's which songs other DJ's like, which defeats the purpose of the chart entirely. It doesn't show how popular a song is with the public at all, which used to be the entire purpose of the chart. If I wanted to know if a song has struck a chord with music listeners, I would check iTunes, Youtube, social media, and streaming. Not Billboard. Honestly, charting on Billboard and the radio for that matter are just brownie points these days. Yes, the radio is a major platform to spread word of an artist's song, but there are so many other platforms available in 2013 that an artist can bypass the old system entirely.

Dangerous Man

I really tried to like the song but it really doesn't deserve that much success. 2x platinum yes, but now already 4xplatinum! Seriously?!

and if it keeps selling 100k plus every week, after 4-5 months, it will become the best selling song in the US and it's not far from possible to happen. :rip:

It's like Some Nights, that song just didn't **** off from the top 10 for ageeeeeeeeees

I don't get why Americans like that song aside from the fact that music is subjective and everyone has different taste. Imo, I only hear shouts in that song.

"A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."

More good news for Thrift Shop this week. After hitting #1 on the R&B/Hip-hop Songs chart, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis just become the first act to do such feat with its debut single since 2009. With +33% in overall audience impressions, +18% in digital sales, +15% in streams, I guess they're seriously on the run for the top spot of the HOT 100 chart next week.

After that chart was ruled for weeks by a Korean, now it's about to be ruled by a white guy from Seattle rapping about wearing his grandma's clothes. Nerds 2, Gangstas 0.

JT dethroned in under 4 days. Probably won't be topping itunes chart.
