Rihanna is huge because she releases music every year. Half of her singles flop, but she covers it up by releasing even more.

Lady Gaga's only GLOBAL (she has plenty of local competition from the likes of Taylor/Katy/etc.) competition would be Adele.

Your exactly right, but I think that this board often forgets how much the general public and pop radio does support Gaga. Every single she's released apart from Marry the Night and Eh, Eh (As if the latter even counts) has had the radio and general public behind her back.

Now I know you guys are about to rebuttal with the Judas incident, so let me elaborate. Had any other artist in the world released Judas, I'd bet you that the radio would have outright refused to play it. It received much hate and is still extremely controversial even today. However, it was a top 20 radio hit. This shows how much support she has by DJ's across the country. They were willing to believe in her second single and played it even when there was so much pressure not to.

After the single did end up crashing and burning after a few weeks, they still continued to support her Born This Way era. Usually if a second single does terrible, the radio won't play any other singles off of that album just to stay clear of any problems. This wasn't the case for Gaga. Within weeks, she had a single that was claiming the number 3 spot week and week again. This only proves the radio's dedication to Gaga.

I just wanted to remind everyone that the radio has literally supported every Gaga song, ever. Marry the Night just left a sour taste in everyone's mouth, but remember that you can't win every time. Honestly, MTN wasn't the best choice to begin with, and due to lack of public interest and general bad luck with the Christmas freeze, it lost support. However, don't let one single out of all three of her albums make you believe that the radio doesn't believe in Gaga.

If you're talking about the GP, then I disagree. They either heard of it, meaning they think it's a hit, or never heard of it.

This. Radio barely played it nor gave it a chance. Screw thinking that it flopped because of the lyrics, bull ****. Marry The night was really good. How can that flop but songs like Want U Back by Cher Lloyd be even moderately successful? Gorl.

I remember requesting the **** out of that song with my friend :toofloppy: I heard MTN like 3 times on the radio and then never heard it again :lolgaga: I remember that last place I heard it on the radio Enough of my memories tho

Bieber's new single is great. I usually don't like his material (or him for that matter), but this song is worthy.

Beauty and a Beat is arguably one of his best material ever released. It has all the potential to give him and Nicki Minaj another top five hit, well hopefully. It's by far my top favourite single of Justin Bieber. :)

Why is S&S trolling Britney's fan base by having it be her single with the most longevity on iTunes since Femme Fatale started?

I've my hopes down now for S&S to give another HOT 100 #1 for Britney, but there's always the next album planned for next year. Another lead single could give her much awaited return to the top of the charts, as all of her HOT 100 #1s are lead singles of her albums anyway, well with the sole exception of the S&M remix. :teehee:

C'Mon could always make a save for Ke$ha anyway. And besides, Die Young seemed to have already reached its peak. I'm more interested on which single RCA would choose after C'Mon. It's quite a bummer for RCA to see its two huge releases for this year, Christina Aguilera's Lotus, and now, Ke$ha's Warrior, receiving a lukewarm reception.

If it weren't for the forum (and DY being a hit), I would've had no clue either of them were releasing an album.

I get that Ke$ha is a major singles artist, but Christina is on a very popular television show every week and her first single was produced by Max Martin. The fact that they managed to screw that up is sad.
