Oyemiamor 40
Stay is so not rihanna.. maybe that's a good thing to her but i duno how the GP will react to this change I think it is boring. She doesn't have the tone of her voice that lures you in for a ballad. She's tried to show us growth in her voice I admit, but wow, that's a risk. Part of me wonders about the strategy. nick4bty 2,758
I was hear for California King Bed as a single because it was actually good. But it didn't chart well, and that (and all the other ballads she released) should have been a lesson learned. Sigh. Another messy Rihanna era. What's new? Americano 31,061
Stay is horrid. Rihanna never knows what she's doing with her eras.
MANiCURE1295 8,673
Stay is horrid. Rihanna never knows what she's doing with her eras. She ALWAYS kills her momentum. She should have just released something sensible..like I don't know LOST IN PARADISE! Not ****ing stay.
nick4bty 2,758
True, California King Bed did have the rock/pop edge to it. It was definitely more upbeat and melodic - Stay is a true ballad, and radio is not going to be playing that, especially from Rihanna.

Ozzy8923 9
Well, I think Stay is a wonderful choice. So many people complaining about how Pop Radio is over saturated with lifeless dance-pop and this would be a change for Rihanna. This is a TRUE ballad (Mind you, California King Bed can be labeled as more of a rock/pop ballad) but Stay is JUST a raw, piano instrumentation and COMMERCIALLY it may do well if promoted properly. I mean, Someone Like You is one of the biggest songs of the decade and they both are similar because of their solely piano instrumentation. Seeing as Rihanna is usually supported by Pop Radio, I think they'll play it and people will buy it. A ballad this time around certainly sold the album better than a dance track. Also... 1 Britney Spears - Scream & Shout 1.0000 2 The Lumineers - Ho Hey 0.5729 (-286) Staying strong! Selling almost twice as much as the second highest selling song on iTunes. I smell 100K+ sales for this week! 200K+ if we're Lucky. 46 +2 WILL.I.AM & BRITNEY ... Scream And Shout 746 +126 542 +84 6.008 +0.516 5 -- 46 746 542 6.008 Slowly, they'll catch on. Or so I hope. :ohno:
