Do you think it will finally be a hit ? it`s climbing now on itunes after being on sell for 0.69$

Did she perform this somewhere? I was waiting for it to take off just watching it at like 250's for weeks, and then I gave up on it. I hope it does well because it's my guilty pleasure. :fan:

I`m happy someone understands what I meant and Peacock has gone gold.

So did Starstruck...

Just not certified, but it sold ~675k

True. And to be fair, Katy Perry is the only artist in history to have 6 multi-platinum HOT 100 #1 hits from one era and all singles reaching at least the top three of the said chart. Even Peacock was a #1 Dance Club hit.

The question is, would that have happened if E.T wasn't released separately with Kanye on iTunes, being displayed on the front page as if it was a completely new single?

Many songs have topped the Dance Club songs even if they did generally bad. That's not really an achievement :P

Most likely not. And BTW would have had more weeks at #1 to be quite honest.

It would`ve been big, but not 5 weeks atop the Hot 100 because LFN has gone #1 and it`s not as good as E.T and it was the 5th single.

ET would've still smashed.

remember the solo version went top 5 too?

maybe not as big as it would in airplay due to less support in RHY and urban

I heard E.T. on the radio sometimes without Kanye on it. As far as POP goes, it would of done just fine on that format. Possibly even better. :smh:

HAC played that version while Pop and Rhythmic played the Kanye version. And the only version they played the solo version was because the Kanye version was popular. They just didn't want rap on the station.

She performed it on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I'm wondering how Rihanna will do on the Hot 100 post Diamonds. I really only see one MAYBE two other singles doing well ... It shall be interesting ... :blehga: :blehga: :blehga:

She'd probably snatch more #1s.

Katy's "Teenage Dream" was her "Fame Monster" moment. Her third album will be hard to match or exceed, in terms of single sales, TD.

Her bar is set high.

I partly agree with the single sales, but to be honest, if there's anything that is somehow expected for the follow-up of Teenage Dream, it can spawn her biggest opening-week sales for an album yet as she has strongly built her own fan base with her record-breaking era over the past and a half years of chart domination. The lead single of it would effortlessly top the HOT 100 chart, given all the hype around her. The question tho is, will she make it without Dr. Luke on her side since the once Teenage Dream executive producer had already signed an exclusive deal with Sony?

This week in the charts is crazy! I'm so glad Weeknd pulled out good first week sales (a rumored 90k) and a great place on BB200 for someone who was an underground RnB act not too long ago. In comparison to the other "hype artist" releases like Kreayshawn and Grimes, Weeknd did exceptionally well! I hope all his singles go number one on the RnB charts. :nails:

Christina seems to be struggling. With a TV show and a lot of major appearances in the last year, you'd think she'd be able to pull a top 5 debut. Will her comeback continue to tank like her lead single? It was only 6 years ago that she topped the charts with Back To Basics, but it seems like xTina is losing public interest. With all that being said, a top 10 debut is still commendable! Lotus clocked in at #7 this week.
