Americano

1st promo single, not the 2nd single :)

Thank god

I feel like if that was a real single it wouldn't have done well at all :dies:

Anything Could Happen slowly gaining and hovering around the 40's on iTunes with only 15 AI. The sales/AI ratio is really high, so would be smart for radio to start playing it more... Looks like it could be a hit.

Aweful song

Americano

Better than Marina's entire discography and half of Lana's.

Absolutely not lol.

Ellie has a lot of good songs, but her single is definitely not one of them

I didn't hate the song like you guys do, but I thought it was really average for awhile. It took a long time to grow on me like Lights did.

You seem to be forgetting that there will be singles before the album comes out. In America, big pop artists tend to live and die on the charts. After your singles and album are released, everyone forgets you even exist.

If Gaga's singles before the album are spot on, people will forget any previous thoughts they've had about her. We are making all these assumptions on how her new album will sell based on her old work. That makes absolutely no sense.

Saying that Gaga will sell 600K might seem to be too high now, but then her new material may turn out to be extremely good and she'll smash that prediction. Or, maybe her new music will stink and 600K will be way too high.

My point is that you can't predict album sales without hearing the singles that will be promoting the album. That's just silly!

Another point I'd like to make is that I feel a lot of casual listeners didn't like BTW as much because it was a lot more preachy. People that really don't care about Gaga's opinions or outlooks on life wouldn't give a damn about the album because that's basically all it includes. That's not to say, however, that if Gaga were to come back with a party single they won't like it. Gaga has already confirmed that the new album will be a lot more fun than BTW was.

Finally, I'd like to point out that if it wasn't for 21, everyone would be saying BTW smashed everything to pieces. Maybe her sales and radio peaks for BTW weren't what they were for TF and TFM, but it was still had the best overall chart run of 2011. Name one era, other than 21, that had a better run when you include album sales, single sales, and radio support. I can't think of anyone.

SO TRUE!

Arturo

Poor Christina, her career is officially over.

She'll have trouble releasing a new album after 2 huge flops in a row.

Yeah, she's done

Unless Bionic was her Glitter, Lotus is her Charmbracelet and her next album will be her Emancipation of Mimi

Doubt it.

Glitter and Charmbracelet were MAJOR flops for Mariah Carey :P

The Emancipation of Mimi was Mariah's comeback. It was larger than life. I was just pointing out that it's possible to have 2 huge flops in a row and come back. But I doubt that'll happen to Xtina

Doubt it too. The things is, with 2 major flops in a row like this, expectations are really low and it's a great time to surprise everyone ! Gaga, with Bad Romance, didn't have the same pressure as with BTW. Thought the example is not really accurate.
