What do you guys think will sell better opening week? Kelly's greatest hits or Unapologetic? They're both out on Nov. 19th.

TTT opened with 50k, right? That was also when WFL was smashing. Keep that in mind when making your decision. :toofunny:

But im talking about this album.

Excuses, excuses.

No. I said that RED sold more than BTW. And it's bigger than general. BTW was just in everyone's faces. On billboards, on benches, on cartons of milk. And RED was on a pizza box.

Did Gagas take over iTunes with all over her albums when BTW debuted? :smh: Juggernaut alberm tbh. Just like btw.

And Target commercials. And Walgreens ads. And on 20 million talkshows.

I've seen more promo for Red than I did for BTW (excluding things from GGD).

And I'm sorry, but I can't take anything you say seriously when you use that ridiculous gif.

I'm rooting for Kelly, obviously, but if Rihanna can't get a number 1 album against a Greatest Hits album, then...

Im trying to lighten the mood with the gif. :dies:

I haven't seen that much promo for red IRL besides Papa Johns & talk shows.

Thank goodness, cause I just don't think I could handle it in a serious manner.

And I see that annoying Target commercial all the freaking time. And Walgreens has a "Buy Taylor Swift's Red Merchandise Here!" on their sign every couple of minutes.

Rihanna has never had a #1 album.

TTT was in the 190k range i believe.

tbh I think Taylor will block both of them. She often sells 200k+ easily throughout the holidays.

Really? What channel?

Cause all I see is but a XXL pizza and get RED free.

*Both Beyonce and Miley Cyrus have scored their first 5 million selling singles. Beyonce with Single Ladies and Miley Cyrus with Party in the USA. Single Ladies peaked at #1 and Party in the USA stalled at #2 (Bad Romance teas :teehee:).

Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A." both top the 5 million mark in digital sales this week. These are the best-sellers for both artists. Beyonce's second best-seller is "Irreplaceable" (3,139,000). Cyrus' is "The Climb" (3,517,000). "Single Ladies" logged four weeks at #1 and went on to win a Grammy as Song of the Year. "Party In The U.S.A." logged three weeks at #2.

For clarification purposes, Rihanna opened with 198K (50K Nick? Sis, where did you get those numbers?! :rip:). So I don't think Kelly will outsell her (her last album opened with 165K, I believe).

Also Wiz Khalifa is releasing his new record the same week as Ke$ha, so she can kiss that #1 album good-bye. Hip-hop artists tend to do very well first week and he is no exception, expect above 200K.

Keep in mind, though, that Rihanna is doing VERY well worldwide with Diamonds already reaching the Top 10 in most major music markets without any promotion or video and she is slated for having her biggest opening week WORLDWIDE of her entire career. Who knows, she might just score in the mid-high 200's and possibly get that #1 album or, if anything, peak at #2.

Radio DJ today was making fun of Rihanna for selling some super-deluxe version of her new album for $250.

$250?! She can barely sell a shipment of a $9 album.

Consider the fact that it's only been out for a month. :rip: I mean, let's be real, for having such overexposure, Rihanna does VERY well worldwide. Especially since this is not her typical sound and is a more R&B influenced track with an edgier sound but still R&B influenced. I think it's very respectable and Unapologetic's first week sales might just be her biggest debut yet. Top 10 in most major music markets, Top 5 in the US, and #1 in Germany, France, and the UK (three of the five biggest markets in the world, she basically has Europe on lock). That Rihanna reign won't let up. :rip:

Speaking of not letting up:

POP: 11 = RIHANNA Diamonds 7811 +119 1446 -16 60.992 +1.024 35 5 11 7811 2812 60.992

OVERALL AI: 9 = RIHANNA Diamonds 102.460 15395 +183 5 9 102.460 15395

Just crossed the 100 million mark in AI and reached the Top 10 on radio.

Arturo

Oh Maroon 5 is #1 for a 7th week?

Looks like the Billboard officials hate Gangnam Style as much as I do.
