OMG :omg: Kendrick's album has a 91 on Metacritic and that's with 19 reviews. Damn...

Meanwhile Red is down a couple notches to 76 with 17 reviews. Most crossover albums don't rate well, but she seemed to pull it off. I have a feeling critics seem to favor her and would have rated her well regardless.

get dat critical acclaim Kendrick :legend:

His numbers are really impressive too. I had no idea he had that much hype around him. According to BB, he has a good chance of getting the highest debut for a male rap album this year (I guess BB considers PF:RR a rap album :laughga: ). Young Jeezy has the highest currently with 233k.

So what was Riri's mediocre hit? WHYB? Then PTA should be considered one too.

Nicki didn't do well on 100 but Rap/Hip-Hop charts say otherwise.

He is probably the best rapper since Kanye & Drake. He is just insane! :legend:

HDD seems to think that Britney's record is safe too. :party:

NEXT WEEK'S TOP 15: A big part of our job, these days, is coming up with new ways to think about how many records Taylor Swift is selling. So grok this: This week, Big Machine's big Red monster will likely sell more than the rest of the Top 50 albums combined. It may, in fact, have the biggest opening since 2005, when 50 Cent's The Massacre lived up to its name with a 1.14m bow. It's also due for the second-largest first week ever for a female artist, trailing only Britney Spears' massive "Oops ... I Did It Again," which opened with 1.319m way back in 2000. Here's how the field looks with the weekend looming:

* Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 1.15-1.25m

* Kendrick Lamar (Aftermath/Interscope) 235-245k

Jason Aldean (Broken Bow) 135-145k

Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 55-60k

* Tony Bennett (Columbia) 30-35k

P!nk (RCA) 25-30k

Brandy (RCA) 21-24k

* Stone Sour (Roadrunner) 21-24k

* Lady Antebellum (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 19-22k

Little Big Town (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 19-22k

Scotty McCreery (Mercury Nashville/19/Interscope) 19-22k

Adele (XL/Columbia) 19-22k

* Gary Clark, Jr. (Warner Bros.) 18k-21k

Miguel (RCA) 18-21k

* Swedish House Mafia (Astralwerks) 17-20k

* Debuts

We'll be back with more ways to understand how huge Red is as soon as possible. (10/25p)

Not here for Gangnam Style going #1 next week. It's very close though. Hopefully OMN's radio power can pull through :) I stream the song daily too :legend:

And wow!!! Impressive numbers for Kendrick. Congrats :clap:

PSY may be rising because he is in North America ... I keep hearing radio spots about him appearing in Toronto very soon.

Also Gangnam Style tends to sell best on the weekend, so if he is even with M5 now .... good sign.

Speaking of PSY, today in my European History class my teacher (who is obsessed with the song) played a video of him talking to the Prime Minister of South Korea I believe.

I educated my class and told them that Maroon 5 has blocked PSY for 5 weeks. They all thanked Maroon 5 :smh:

Fortunately Call Me Maybe will keep its crown as the song of 2012 :)
