Bad 32
I wonder if Taylor can break Britney's first week record. Oops I Did it Again sold 500k on it's first day. If Taylor sold 105k at just Target alone, I don't think she's that far off 500k for the day, especially since it's being sold at a bunch of non-traditional retailers. :ohno:

Ozzy8923 9
I don't think the BTW Era was a HUGE stumble per say, just a misstep. Radio is still here for Gaga and if Ke$ha of all people was able to make a solid comeback then I doubt Gaga will have any trouble regardless of what kind of material she releases. I have rational expectations for the lead single. Top 3 is guaranteed in both the Hot 100, Radio, Pop, and Digital Songs.
CoolTrainerTerry 1,323
From Hts: TAYLOR’S SWIFT RESPONSE: Indications are that Taylor Swift’s Big Machine album, Red, officially available today, has a million copies in its sight, based on early retail reads. Can the country-pop diva actually get there? If she does, it will be the first time in a decade that an artist has had consecutive million-selling debut weeks, since the days of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and Eminem. Swift currently boasts approximately half of the iTunes top singles, due to the fact the online retailer's “Complete My Album†function was down for the first 15 hours that the album was available, which might account for the large number of track sales as consumers may have opted to buy the songs a la carte. The Target version of the album contains six additional songs, three live and three new studio tracks.Stay tuned as we gather more information. Hmm...this could be a problem for her album sales, but it explains a lot.

It just wasn't flaw-free like The Fame and The Fame Monster. It had its missteps but overall it was a commercially successful era. The material was just really polarizing. If ARTPOP is going to be less preachy and more fun, I don't see why Gaga can't slay again...especially since Adele won't be releasing a new album Kendrick's album is getting great reviews so far. 85 on metacritic with 8 reviews. Makes me excited to see what him and Gaga have in store for ARTPOP.

Klou 2,414
So far RED has a metacritic score of 77 from 9 reviews. The score usually starts high and drops from there. It should lower once they add more.

Klou 2,414
Metacritic does such a lousy job IMO. It's not that hard to gather a bunch of professional scores and get an average... I got Halcyon's average of 71 in like 20 minutes on my own with 18 reviews just by googling. They take forever to add reviews and never add enough in the end. Tommymonster44 0
Lady Gaga doesn't have nearly as much momentum going into her next album like Taylor Swift did (in the United States.) She stumbled out of, not sprinted out of, the BTW era. The Speak Now era wasn't exactly a walk in paradise for Taylor, either. It kind of reminds me of the Born This Way era in the sense that the album did extremely well, but the singles could have performed better. I still think that Born This Way's singles did way better than Taylor's Speak Now singles, though. Gaga will do fine and MTN will be forgotten as long as her new material is good.
