heavymlover 340
Your Body is not even that bad. It deserves a better spot than NMT imo... Oh well, I guess it'll be difficult to save her career at this point.

Yeah it's looking very likely, unless some of her hardcore country fans aren't liking the new dubstep Taylor I wonder if she'll snatch Britney's record :ohno:
Tommymonster44 0
It depends. If Gaga is releasing the lead single in January and the album in March, the lead single will most likely still be charting and gaining airplay and all that by the time the album is released. So, I wouldn't want the second single to be overshadowed by the success of the lead single. I mean, Rihanna released YDA 6 weeks into WFL's chart performance and look how that ended up. So, if the lead single is still performing really well when March comes by, then I would wait another month to release single #2. I'm sure that Rihanna's team was trying to pull Only Girl/What's My Name 2.0, it just didn't work out that way. WFL stayed put weeks longer than anyone expected, preventing a song of any caliber to gain traction. With that said, You Da One isn't some flawless dance track, anyways. If they had released Where Have You Been in the place of You Da One, it might have been a different story. But I agree that Gaga show wait for a second single. Radio stations treat her different than Rihanna. They just don't go hopping on and off a Gaga single in a day or two. Singles used to exist to promote albums. Single sales are now what album sales were because of digital music. I don't think the number of singles matter as long as they're still performing. Born This Way didn't clean up album sales in the US by any stretch of the imagination so that shouldn't have affected it's single sales audience. Teenage Dream sold at least as well in the states, and its fourth and fifth releases were monster successes. Gaga just lost a lot of public appeal and momentum during the Born This Way era. If she can gain some back during ARTPOP, there's no reason for her not to be able to put out 5, or 6 singles. Even if the album sales millions of copies the singles can still do well, a la 21. It all just depends on marketability of the music. I never said that fifth and sixth singles don't do well. There are endless examples of hit fifth singles. The point that I was trying to make was that they are often redundant and could be cut altogether. If the first four singles performed well, it's almost unheard of for a fifth single to become the signature song of the era. I'm sure that interscope wants plently of singles. They are just here for record sales. However, from a marketing standpoint, there comes a point when your singles aren't making a meaningful impact (even if they are still charting) and the smartest move is to simply start a new era. A long term artist like Gaga that plans on making several more albums has no need to milk the current era dry.

Turns out, it wasn't the genre that bothered them about WANEGBT, but the overall quality of the song. Tommymonster44 0
Why is Try so low while Twatter Swift is number 1 What a sad country I live in... Try is a ballad, even if it may be powerful. Slower songs always take a while to catch on, especially when the radio has kelly clarkson's and demi's ballads to play. It's a great song, I'm sure it'll catch on eventually. IKYWT is going to sell almost 150k more than what Begin Again did, which was the only pure country song she released so far. Godvin Harris and Flawless Welch up to #13 on iTunes. Ke$ha up to #3. Ozzy8923 9
Toilet Paper?! Well, I don't blame her team for shoveling out the $$$ in order to promote the album. Why not take advantage of your best selling artist and guarantee another 1 million+ debut? If it were Gaga doing all that I would be fine with it.
