Klou 2,414
Gaga could even get a #1 from a promo single I'm actually scared that there won't be any promo singles this time around. It depends on the other songs at the moment, but she'd probably have to sell over 400K with her promo singles to have a chance at #1 :noparty:

Ozzy8923 9
Taylor not only reached expectations, she SURPASSED them BIG TIME. She is showing plenty of longevity with her lead single, which I honestly expected by now to be out of the top 10 on iTunes. By the end of the year it will cross the 3 million mark in sales in the US, along with the album. I can foresee Red selling a solid 5 million copies in the US by mid-2013 and possibly 6 million. Speak Now sold 4.2 million in the US so I'm sure Red can sell 800K more and reach 5 million. I'm here for some promo singles. Not as many as Taylor because Gaga really can't afford to do that because her albums have less songs (Taylor released 5 (?) promotional singles out of 22 album tracks so it still leaves a lot to look forward too so unless Gaga plans on making a HUGE album like Taylor's I wouldn't release more than 2-3 promotional singles). But it's nice to score some Top 10's before the album release. I mean Katy and Rihanna both had 2 #1's under their belt when they released their albums (California Gurls and Teenage Dream went #1 before the release of the album and the same goes for Only Girl and What's My Name), so if Gaga were to release 2 singles before the release of the album and they go #1 that would be a great way to start an era! In other news, expect the release of will.i.am's new single ft. Britney Spears within the next month. I expect a debut in the Top 5 and I would estimate sales from the 200K-300K, 400K depending on how good the song and video are and how much airplay/promotion/hype the song gets in its first week of release and the day of release (Monday, hopefully). For reference purposes here are the opening week sales of Spears' last 3 lead singles: Hold It Against Me - 411,000 in 6 days. 3 - 255,000. Womanizer - 286,000. Pre-album singles first week sales: Circus - 212,000. Till the World Ends - 117,000 in 3 days.

Tommymonster44 0
Hopefully Gaga's team has learned their sales lesson after BTW: Gaga fans don't buy her singles after the album has already came out. I'm sure that the original intention was to have Born This Way and Judas be the two massive selling singles to drop before the album came out. It just didn't work out that way. The only reason Judas initially sold the way it did was because Born This Way was the biggest hit of the year at that point in time. I believe that promo singles wouldn't be a bad thing for Gaga. If Born This Way would have worked out the way it was intended to, BTW and Judas would have topped the charts. Judas would still be doing great by the time the album was released. In addition, The Edge of Glory and Hair would have sold great as promo singles. TEOG did sell great, but not as a promo single because of Judas's poor performance. I feel that Hair was overshadowed by TEOG becoming a single only a week prior, so that held it back a little. So basically, we need to hope that things work out as planned this next era :).
