No one talks about LWWY here, it's an irrelevant hit. :haha:

I heard it on the radio for the first time this morning. I thought it sounded like Starships lol.

Taylor Swift Red 312,000

Taylor Swift We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 149,000 2,208,000

Taylor Swift Begin Again 90,000 389,000

For being such a huge hit, WANEGBT probably won't even cross the 4 million mark in sales.

Queen's 1976 hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It's the oldest recording to have sold 3 million digital copies. The song first appeared on Queen's fourth album, A Night At The Opera, in December 1975. Moreover, it's the best-selling song from the 1970s.

Interesting. Seems like Ke$ha was the one that reigned supreme after all! I'm glad. Proves that TAKING time in between releases to work on your material and ACTUALLY develop hype is worth it in the end. Makes me happy that my faves aren't releasing material at such a mechanistic and consistent rate (every other year a la Rihanna).

Again, I reiterate the fact that Gaga CAN release an EDM lead single and it WILL perform well (most likely). Gaga will most likely have a radio deal and great opening week sales and that will guarantee a healthy debut and, after the deal is finished, when radio sees that the song is still selling well (video premiere and promotion will aid that) they'll play the song and everyone will be happy. Streaming is still to be seen whether or not it will be an issue, but I think Gaga can rack up some healthy streaming points. If she doesn't, I don't think it will be so bad, Taylor Swift hasn't had a lot of streaming with WANEGBT and it still had good chart performance in the US. Obviously in continental Europe, the UK, Asia and Oceania, I think Gaga will do fine with an EDM single.

With the whole Rihanna vs Ke$ha thing, it's still too soon to tell. Ke$ha has never had any longevity...or at least not as much as Rihanna. My vote still goes to Ke$ha though.

And I agree with everything you said about Gaga

OMG, Psy has been blocked again by M5 on the Hot100.

LWWY debuts at #3, Red #6 and Skyfall #8.

Goddammit :taylor: :taylor:

I don't think he'll make it to #1 at this point :noparty:

Billboard gives way too much weight to airplay :nails:

Gangnam Style beat M5 on sales and in streaming this week. I'm pressed :crossed:

I agree that Gangnam Style is on it's way to having more cultural impact than CMM. But that cultural impact doesn't make GS a good song imo therefore I think OMN deserves the top spot :haha:

A bit awkward, but I like the song.

I agree. Don't really know how to interpret that video. It really does seem awkward.

And low budget.

:rip:

.

Good song.

Interscope U.K. singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding’s sophomore album, Halcyon, featuring the singles, “Anything Could Happen†and the just-released “I Know You Care,†looks to be in the 30-35k range.

I think a song that has made as much cultural impact as GS has deserves the top spot way more than a Maroon 5 single....
