So I tried tidal and ohhhh girl I regret making fun of the fake streams, take my coin Jay Z. I really feel a GREAT difference I noticed a lot of new sounds and felt the detail in the surface.
Anyway, Gaga has her whole catalogue in Masters quality:excited:, so which song I should listen in detail.
btw I have some m50x with my iPhone so I know it’s not the best quality but I still feel a great difference

they are studio headphones.  though it can be categorized as hifi as hifi is a generic term. im just being specific. nevermind me.

Hifi- designed for listening and these can be low end or audiophile quality. They usually color the sound more than studio headphones and wont necessarily have a flat frequency response.. (source: https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-difference-between-Hi-Fi-DJ-and-studio-headphones)

they are studio headphones. which is the best way to listen to music if you are not a boomy bass lover. i love ath. my headphones are ath for studio. :music:

good to see a fellow ath user here though. love their headphones

I may or may not be tempted to create myself a fake email for a free trial on Tidal because of this thread.

Born This Way, when it was re-released a few years ago in 24 bit hi-res (Qobuz, HDTracks, not sure if Tidal has it?) - is a dramatic improvement. I recall some audiophile forums also portraying similar comments & reviews. The sound quality on that album was not that amazing, but noticeably different in 24-bit. Obviously uou won't hear much if you have **** equipment, earphones or a device that doesn't support high resolution audio output.

Tbh, I found Stupid Love to sound much better in 48khz-24bit resolution - which I purchased that from Qobuz or 7Digital for like £2.50. Also recommend. Stupid Love has been released in a higher sample rate/resolution than all her previous hi-res releases (apart from C2C), so I can't wait to buy Chromatica on Qobuz! 🙌🏼🖤

I find Tidal to be too expensive for what they actually offer

Every song except JnD because you don't necessarily want to hear it. :billie:

Lol, quora as a source?

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/high fidelity

the reproduction of an effect (such as sound or an image) that is very faithful to the original

I very much disagree that "hifi" headphones would color the sound more.

Edit:

Additionally:

the production by electrical equipment of very good quality sound that is as similar as possible to the original sound

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/high-fidelity

And i disagree that headphones cant be both studio and hifi
