The way they did "verified fan" for Taylor on Reputation in the US was pretty much the worst possible rip-off, you could "boost" your place in line by buying more and more merch and up to 13 copies of the album. It encouraged people to spend hundreds for the chance of being further up the line to buy tickets for (in some cases) thousands. I hope nobody tries that sort of thing again (for the record, I love Taylor, but did not like how they did that).

Always thought the way they did the pit on BTWB was the best way. No early entry benefit, no VIP package, just turn up early with a GA ticket, if early enough get your spot in the "pit" queue and you knew there and then if you were going to be in or out of the pit. 

I wasn't aware of how they did it for the Taylor show. I just remembered some fans posting that they were chosen for an upgrade and I assumed the pit was full of upgraded fans. Thanks for explaining it in more detail. 

I agree that the born this way ball way of doing things was so much better.
