The future of pop music will be more Billie-inspired than any of those tracks.

Trap influences in pop is what does well now.

I don't love that kind of music, though. I'll stick with Gaga, lol.

Whether she's the future or the past, I'll always love her music. A lot of the pop music I enjoy now is probably considered dated and 'uncool' - but I don't care :bradley:

I really hope that Gaga, Dua and hopefully Riri too can start a new trend that goes back to the "older" pop music vibe.

I really love DSN and Future Nostalgia by Dua, and the success of Blinding Lights (at least here in europe) gives me hope.

(BL even played between two Deathcore (metal) bands two weeks ago and the people quite enjoyed it.)

Lol, this thread is aimed at one that was created last night about SOPHIE and PC Music. Nothing to do with 10's pop

I'm open for "new" artists like Billie, Dua and Halsey (and I really enjoy them), but I will listen to the older pop songs till I'm an 80 year old grandpa.

Honestly want to know what is the answer: Do ya'll really think of this as the peak and future of pop music?

luv u, @ReginaGeorge:ally:

No, I don't

But there is a problem

I think that the lack of artistic depth (the care with meaning and message) and the complexity of pop music are inherently associated with its own nature, I mean, it is pop (popular), so it is commercial, right?!

For this reason, it presents commercial, fashion, economical and behavioral trends, like any other market or industry

I would love to say that the Grimes type of thing is the future of pop, for example, because it uses all the conceptual and stylistic tools of pop music as an art school, the same premise, even though it is more handmade and therefore more quiet and honest (spiritually speaking, conceptually and so on) ... but pop music remains "what people listen to"

So, from that perspective, unfortunately, I think all of these examples from Ariana, Halsey and Swift are indeed the peak and future of pop music.

It can change, of course, but only if our mindset changes first

I LOVE 7 Rings but just like as a fun song

I totally get what you say. I hate the direction pop was going in, before our queen and saviour took the lead and changed everything again

Everybody say "Thank you, Lady G." :tony:
