I love when gays with the most cookie-cutter music taste act like music experts, they'd stan any blonde singer with a vagina that acts fierce yet they have the audacity to diminish other genres of music.  But i mean gays also think lana del rey is avant-garde so .. Honestly i don't even have enough energy to argue with people like you, it's useless. Stay in your closed-mindset :)

This is such condescending, over-generalized shiit haha. For the record, I’m not gay and don’t listen to pop. The majority of my Spotify library is obscure unknown electronic artists. I can usually find something positive about any artist even if I don’t personally like their music and with most Sophie tracks I can’t find anything. Like, it’s just random noises that don’t go together. It sounds like a kid messing around on garage band or something

Also like i said before, there are people who are more into the sound designs than the traditional music theory, at the end of the day music is just transmitting vibrations. "Music" is very much subjective and entirely dependent upon the culture and expectations of the society that the person belongs to. What one social group finds unappealing, uncouth, or even evil might be normal or strongly appealing to another. Maybe on other planets and universes they have a different way of making music. Who are you to decide what is music and what isn't?

This is a legitimate point that got ruined by the attitude in the first one haha. Like what you like, don’t like what you don’t like, but you’re not superior to people who like a melody or even just a cohesive sound on a song

reality’s tight if the music is right

Her early stuff is meant to sound like plastic - I think she achieves this. She studied at Glasgow School of Art.

I haven't listened to a lot of SOPHIE, but I do usually like what I hear. I'm big into electronic music

Whats avant garde about that? She isn't bringing anything exactly new to the table or taking it to the future... cause if she did, it would be more cohesive and would sound like music, and it would be more popular  :vegas:

It's a remix anyways... Have you listened to It's Okay to Cry or Immaterial? Those are a bit more conventional. Or some of the stuff she made with Charli / other artists?
