Delusional 9,221
Hey guys, I have been thinking ab this a lot, and the cure is one of my favourite songs - but I believe the only reason gaga released the cure was to test whether it was better to promote ASIB with a generic pop song like heal me or stick to shallow or some other ballads. I’ve thought about the other possibilities, and they just don’t make sense? Like for example: 1. Gaga just wanted to release it for the giggles. This is gaga we are talking about. She wouldn’t just “rEleAsE” without some actual reasoning 2. It was a tribute to Sonja. I also think this was not the case. I mean, why would she make the most generic and upbeat song, and dedicate it to one of her best friends who had suffered from cancer. + she already released Grigio Girls. 3. It was a test from Interscope to test if gaga still needs mass promo. This seems like the second likely, I mean we never even got an actual video even though they could have just filmed a video of her dancing in the desert with some smoke machines and called it a day (basically stupid love mv but it’s still great ) , so it was like lnterscope testing Gaga’s capabilities without the music videos, radio interviews etc. however they did later perform it live from the JWT which makes this theory not really make sense So what do y’all think, and do any of you still listen to TC? I love to jam out and dance to it sometimes - cute bop anyway, bye xoxo, Miss Delusional ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️BANNED TILL SEPTEMBER‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

gagzus 15,894
What we know is it was just an ASIB writing session reject that Gaga liked and she said it herself because of the “state of the world” she felt the need to release it because it was a year after Trump got elected and she wanted to make something positive. I don’t think they expected it to be a minor hit like it was. Also, the “testing to see if a generic single from ASIB would’ve worked” isn’t strictly true because Why Did You Do That? started getting some attention after the movie came out, we even had websites writing think pieces about how the song wasn’t bad like the movie portrayed and Jackson was just a jealous a-hole. We also had some sites claiming Gaga needed to go back to radio friendly pop. I think had they IASF’d it and released WDYDT as a single it’d have done something. brucee 1,690
I'm not sure she would have release it if it was not important for her. hello hello baby.

But did it have the potential to be no.1 on the billboard top 100? That your honour, is my question. ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️BANNED TILL SEPTEMBER‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Sepsami 18,887
If she released Heal Me it would've done so much better The Cure is the definition of generic sorry. Obviously I still pop off whenever it comes on though

The Cure? had it received promotion and an official single push it was slightly possible because of her having no competition, but more likely a top 5 at a stretch
