Why should she when everyone’s just going to whine about everything she does anyway?

So because she doesn’t feel the need to please her fans with staged paparazzi photos in haute couture she’s TOO Hollywood?

The point flew directly over your head huh? Anyone who refuses to acknowledge a significant difference in Gaga’s personality, behavior, and passion for artistry needs a reality check. No one is saying it’s a bad thing, but it’s not the same as it was up until 2015.

She had to slow down waking from a hotel door to a limo? So can we explain how she’s dancing harder in SL than she has since AP??? Y’all gotta stop with this injury excuse, especially for Street looks that require no energy :air:

I get where you’re coming from for certain things tho, I’m not going to ignore her fibro and illness but

Fibromayalsia is a mental illness not physical. Therefor the more stress she has on her and the more depressed she is, the more physical pain she is. I’m not sure how you are but when I get stressed I tend to get headaches and back pain. So this really has nothing to do with how hard she dances etc. it’s about her state of mind. I’d imagine living in the city feeling pressured to look 100% Gaga all the time can put some stress on her. Especially having people taking her picture all the time signing autographs having no personal space, and dealing with her PTSD. I’d imagine that contributes a lot to her physical pain, so it’s proabbly best that she doesn’t stay in the city all the Time serving looks, as much as we all of love it

Wait, what?

I understand this fan base getting defensive of Gaga when, for example, she gets dragged for being “over it.” If you love her, it’s obvious she is doing amazing and unexpected things for us this era that I at least never anticipated (like getting her promo game on).

I do not, however, understand the claws that come out when someone wants to discuss a topic such as this. Fashion and visuals were a major component to Gaga’s brand and it’s her brand that she has sold to us.

She has chosen to continue to work professionally as a musician, popstar, and brand- the Lady Gaga brand. Like any profession, it comes with specific obligations, and like any brand, it comes with expectations. If she truly is tired of being surrounded by fans - fans who adore her, built her up, and supported her - then that is totally okay; but, then she needs to be honest about that and retire. No shade whatsoever there ... I just don’t understand why anyone would defend a musician who was both trying to rake in the bills from a new album and avoid the fans who own those bills?

I think commentary like this and the “her health” rhetoric are not conducive to what a fan forum should be. We should be allowed to, and enjoy, talking about every part of her brand that we fell in love with. And we should absolutely be able to ask what has changed when we are in such an exciting time and yet one of those pieces is missing.

Her health can’t be used as an excuse any time someone does so little as misses seeing her in iconic fashion. If you think she can produce the SL MV yet not make some strategic promo appearances, then I don’t know what to say. Otherwise, if you are using it because it is convenient, you are only desensitizing people for when she truly needs empathy and has to make tough choices due to her health.

Her lack of public appearances has been a let down and I am allowed to say that. I am so hyped for this era but I’m bummed that she’s MIA.

So well said and it’s all so true. Sometimes I wonder if people forget :bradley:

Likely what she told Oprah, she's matured and gotten therapy, she doesn't have the need for shock value anymore. Her health is a relevant point even if some fans don't want it to be, if you live with chronic pain, you know how much regular clothes can be painful, let alone elaborate costumes and heels, even for short periods of time. The looks in the video and promo pics are rather elaborate and spectacular.  The pic posted today is glorified lingerie, not exactly something most of the rest of us would be wearing. She's living for herself and she seems happy. Maybe that's what this era is.

Don’t tell me she’s presenting us one of her most interesting and fleshed out concepts since BTW and y’all are still saying she isn’t invested anymore just bc she’s not going out to show off outfits on the street. Make it make sense little monsters! :saladga: So f*cking annoying, she can do everything and still y’all will complain about something.

This is shaping up to be one the most exciting and interesting Gaga eras, there’s promo everywhere, GagaVision is back, but little monsters are complaining bc they don’t get street looks anymore :sharon:

And this goes to every whiner :vegas:

Her lead single been out a whole week ago and we didn’t get a single live performance or an interview, bare minimum.

I know you all have a ‘being a real fan (whatever that means)’ complexity where you’d say anything to praise her for some positive GGD reactions but anyone with some sense can tell we’re getting more banners and billboards and less of her, and that’s a bummer cuz I want to see her explain the album and it influences on Ellen...and giving you an experience.

Some of us do enjoy the Chromatica rollout, just bc you don’t like it doesn’t mean we don’t and we’re just faking it. But k go off sis :billie:

No, she’s not obligated to give you a damn thing. If you watched Five Foot Two you’ll see how those crowds affect her. Even if it’s not always like that, she could just plain not feel like dealing with it and that’s ok too.

Smother Em Eh

The last 2 Born This Way pics were already into the area but at the very beginning.

Anyway, for starters she is way more grown up. She has a different set of priorities. Also it must be tiring to get glammed up all the time for non events. It probably took a lot out of her. But hey atleast we can look back at the many years she did and reminisce of how iconic and invested she was into her art and brand. Those were the days!

She is still Gaga but she has more shades to her now. Not to mention she has been very busy for the past couple of years.
